2i <br />District may be established in said County for the control of flood, storm and drainage waters on a <br />county -wide basis. The Mayor announced that this item had been taken off the agenda and referred to the <br />Legislative Committee. <br />Agenda items 16 and 17 with regard to Marshall Street were taken off the agenda. <br />Resolution authorizing agreement between Dumbarton Fire Protection District and City of Redwood City for the <br />furnishing of fire protection by the City to the District, July 1, 1959, to and including June 30, 1960. <br />After some discussion, Councilman Granger moved to carry this on the agenda for two weeks and asked that <br />a further stud be made and a report be submitted by the City Manager (MINUTE ORDER #5940), seconded <br />by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />Frank Be Cates asked permission to move a building from Lot 8, Block 5, Dingee Park, at 29 Birch Street to <br />Lot 70 Block 10, University Heights, San Mateo County at 2050 Gordon Street, Menlo Park Area, The Plan- <br />ning Commission approved the request subject to the posting of a bond to protect the trees along the <br />route. Councilman Spillers moved approval of the Planning Com:mi.ssionts recommendation subject to the <br />necessary insurance '(MINUTE ORDER #59-51), seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br />The City Manager presented the Council with the 1959-60 tentative budget. Councilman Spillers moved to set <br />the.matter for public hearing on June 15th and the City Clerk was authorized to advertise the hearing <br />-in accordance with the Charter (MINUTE ORDER #59-52), seconded -by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />Councilman Spillers moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2728 SETTING TIME AND PLACE CF PUBLIC HEARING ON <br />ANNUAL BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 1959 -JUNE 30, 1960; ORDERING PUBLIC NOTICE BE GIVEN OF SAID <br />HEARING AND OF THE FACT THAT COPIES CF SAID PROPOSED BUDGET ARE AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC INSPECTION IN THE <br />OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried unanimously on roll call. <br />Councilman Herkner moved to have a study meeting before June 15th (MINUTE ORDER #59-53), seconded by <br />i <br />Councilman Granger and carried. <br />COMMUNICATIONS.* <br />� -0 <br />0 <br />Board of Directors of the Redwood City Chamber of Commerce on May 14, 1959, passed the following resol- <br />ution: RESOLVID, that the Board of Directors of the Redwood City C bamber of Commerce go on record as <br />endorsing action toward the improvment of Spruce Street from the Bayshore Highway to State Route 107 <br />and the elimination of the Five Points intersection. <br />Councilman Spillers moved to approve the Mayor's request to leave the country for six weeks (MINUTE ORDER <br />#59-54), seconded by Councilman Fields and carried. Councilman Rosselli moved that theoffice of Mayor <br />be rotated among the Councilmen in order of their seniority from week to week. Mayor pro -tem f or the <br />next meeting and representing the City as the next League Dinner will be Councilman Granger (MINUTE <br />ORDER #59-55), seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />Claims 29117 through 29236, totaling $45,748.03, were ordered paid on motion of Councilman Rosselli, see - <br />onded by Councilman Fields and carried* <br />Councilman Weymouth moved that the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried.
