<br />PPROPRIATED BALANCE OF THE GENERAL FUND TO THE SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT REVOLVING FUND FOR THE PURPOSE OF
<br />ACQUIRING PROPERTY AND CONTRACTING FOR ENGINEERING, APPRAISAL, RIGHT-OF-WAY., ACQUISITION AND LEGAL SERVICES
<br />NECESSARY FOR THE FORMATION OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICTS, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and ea rried on
<br />roll call, Mayor Royer being noted absent. The affidavit of publication was ordered filed.
<br />FURTHER CONSIDERATION ON PROPSED SIGN ORDINANCE. Councilman Weymouth moved to refer this to the staff and when
<br />they are in a position to come back with a recommendation that it then be placed on the agenda (MINUTE ORDER
<br />#59-61), seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried.
<br />FURTHER CONSIDERATION ON PERSONNEL BOARD RECOILME ,DATION ON REQUESTS RECEIVED FROM EMPLOYEE ORGANIZATIONS FOR IN-
<br />CREASES IN SALARIES AND FRINGE BENEFITS. Councilman Spillers moved to hold a study meeting with the Personnel
<br />Board on June 2nd (MINUTE ORDER #59-62), seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried.

<br />It is the recommendation of the Police Chief and the City Manager that the low bid of Towne Motor Company be
<br />accepted and that a 1959 Ford 8 Fordor, Custom 300, be purchased at a total net cost of $1$10.00. Council-
<br />man Spillers moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2735 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR FURNISHING OF NEVA AUTOMOBILE; AND
<br />REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS RECEIVED, seconded by Councilman Fields and carried on roll calls- Mayor Royer being
<br />noted absent.
<br />SIDEWALK COMMITTEE REPORT. 'The Sidewalk Committee offered the following recommendations regarding appeals on side-
<br />walk notices issued by the City Engineer's office:
<br />Notice number 1354; notice date - 1/30/59; work location - County Parking Lot, Winslow, Bradford & Hamilton;
<br />owner's name and address - County of San Mateo, Committee recommendation - portions have been temporarily
<br />patched with asphalt but construction area still in dangerous defective condition. Recommendation that side-
<br />walk and curb be replaced immediately as no indication when County building will be completed. No one else
<br />in area permitted to make temporary repairs.
<br />Notice number 13156= notice date - 1/30/59; work location - 225 feet of sidewalk and driveway on Redwood
<br />Avenue between Reese & Hudson; Owner's name and address - Slatt & Pryor, c/o Co B. Currie, 525 Marshall Street,
<br />Redwood City; Committee recommendation - work be completed within 30 days as pedestrians forced to walk in
<br />street area. Property owners have previously requested rezoning and previous extensions were granted, the
<br />last to April 15.,-1959*

<br />commendation that present owner construct work within 30 days and prior to sale.

<br />REDWOOD AVENUE BRIDGE (BETWEEN GORDON STREET AND JOHNSON STREET) IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AND AUTHORIZING
<br />CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FCR BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION THEREOF, seconded by Councilman Fields and carried on roll
<br />call, Mayor Royer being noted absent.
