256' <br />Councilman Granger moved to deny the application and terminate the proceedings, seconded by Councilman <br />Rosselli and carried. <br />Councilman Spillers moved adoption of ORDINANCE NO. 924 ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THAT CERTAIN CODE ENTITLED "THE <br />ELECTRICAL CCDE OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, CALIFORNIA", TOGETHER WITH ALL AMENDMENTS THERETO AND AS THE <br />SAME EXISTED AND WAS EFFECTIVE APRIL 11, 1958, PROVIDING FOR THE REGULATION OF ELECTRICAL FIXTURES AND <br />APPLIANCES, PROVIDING FCR PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF SAID ORDINANCE AND PORTIONS THEREOF AND REPEALING wa4 <br />CRDINANCE N0. 825, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried on roll call, Councilman Weiss being noted <br />absent. The City Manager reed letters from the Health Department and . <br />from Jerrold Smith. After discussion about the availability of water and the possibility cf annexation., <br />Councilman Weymouth moved to deny the request and review the matter in a study meeting. After further <br />discussi ons Councilman Weymouth Withdrew his motion and then moved to continue the matter for three weeks, <br />seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. (agenda 2-9-59) <br />REPORT ON MARSHALL STREET NEGOTIATIONS FOR PURCHASE OF PROPERTY BETWEEN MAIN AND WALNUT STREETS. The Mayor <br />reported that Mr. Elkus had agreed to a price of $57,500 Which is near the appraisal price. The Committee <br />recommended the purchase of the property and requested the Attorney to draw up the necessary papers. Coun— <br />cilman Weymouth moved that the Council would proceed and -instructed the City Attorney to prepare the nec— <br />essary papers on the basis of $57.,500., seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING SIDEWALK ORDINANCE AND SETTING UP PROCEDURE FOR VARIANCE. After a full discussion on the <br />contents of the ordinances Councilman Granger moved to introduce an ordinance amending Article II of <br />Ordinance No. 639, being the sidewalk and driveway ordinance of the City of Redwood City, by changing <br />the provisions of Section 5 thereof to provide for construction of driveways to established gradess or <br />grades approved by the City Engineers and by adding to said Article a new section., numbered 10.1s to <br />provide for the issuance of variances and exceptions to the strict application of the provisions of said <br />Article IIs seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />Councilman Spillers moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2631 ESTABLISHING AND DECLARING CERTAIN DESIGNATED ENTRANCE <br />TO DESIGNATED INTERSECTION TO BE STOP ENTRANCE: (Broadway at its easterly entrance to Arguello Street) <br />seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried on roll call., Councilman Weiss being noted absent. <br />a <br />
