341 <br />After further discussion regarding change of grade problems, Councilman Rosselli moved to continue <br />hearing for one week to allow time for City Manager and Engineering Department to work out some solu- <br />tion. Motion seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />Mayor Royer appointed Councilmen as Noted below to serve as liason between the recent Citizens Committees <br />appointed to serve on the Six Year Plan, and the Council: <br />Park & Recreation Councilman Spillers <br />Streets, Overpass & Traffic Councilman Herkner <br />Water, Sewer & Storm Drains Councilman Rosselli <br />Public Buildings Councilman Granger <br />Master Plan Councilmen Fields, Weymouth and Mayor Royer <br />Councilman Granger announced that the time was growing short within which the proposed changes in the <br />Charter might be submitted. <br />Councilman Granger again called attention to a..close-out sale in progress in a store located on E1 Camino <br />Real south of Five -Points. City Manager reported that this matter was already under investigation. <br />Councilman Herkner discussed private dumps in and around the city creating unsightly condition. He sug- <br />gested the possibility of legal control which would require covering within time limitations. <br />Claims #30062 to 30218 totaling $1863,698.82 were ordered paid on motion of Councilman Rosselli, seconded by <br />Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />Councilman Spillers moved adjournment, seconded by Councilman Fields and carried. M. <br />r <br />Invocation was led by Reverend Marion D. Pember, First Baptist Church. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Ron W. Fields, Floyd D. Granger, Sidney D. <br />Herkner, John S. Rosselli, Robert V. Spillers, Mayor William H. Royer and Deputy City Clerk Vivian <br />Holmquist. Councilman Ray Weymouth was noted absent. Also present were City Manager J. E. Neal, City <br />Attorney Robert J. Costello, Assessor -Auditor John J. Brophy, Assistant Planning Director Leonard Knittel, <br />Planning Director Dick Wilkinson, Deputy City Engineer Melvin Moen, Police Chief William Faulstich, <br />Engineering Associate William Martin, Jr., Building Inspector S. H. Kreiss, Water Superintendent H. L. <br />Winter and Fire Chief J. L. Lodi, <br />Councilman Spillers moved approval of the minutes of August 17th as mailed, seconded by Councilman Field s <br />and carried. <br />OPEN BIDS, EAGLE HILL TERRACE IMPROVEMENTS (AVENUE DEL ORA TO TERMINUS). The following bids were received: <br />Douglass & Woodhouse, Redwood City $5,569.34 <br />Kunz Paving Company, San Mateo 6,517.00 <br />Bragato Paving Company, Redwood City 6a301.30 <br />Engineer's estimate - - - - - - -$5,574.55 <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to refer the bids to the Engineering Department for checking and report back <br />later in the evening, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />CONTINUATION OF PUBLIC HEARING, GLENWOOD AVENUE -CANYON ROAD & VICINITY IMPROVEMENTS. Councilman Rosselli <br />moved to continue the public hearing to September 14th and authorized the engineer to make the changes <br />in grade on the plans, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. (MINUTE ORDER #59-134) <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON APPEAL OF HARRY FOLBERG FROM PLANNING COMMISSION'S DENIAL OF VARIANCE ON LOr 203, BLOCK 2, <br />STAMBAUGH STREET ADDITION (654 Buckeye Street). The public hearing was declared open and the affidavit <br />of notice ordered filed. The Mayor read the report of the Planning Commission and the Clerk the letter <br />
