X49 <br />Councilman Rosselli moved approval of the minutes of September lLtth as maileds seconded by Councilman Fields <br />and carried. <br />Cecil Duncan appealing from denial by Planning,Commission of variance on Lot 8., Block ID., West Redwood Sub- <br />divisions 1204 Sierra Street. Councilman Fields moved that the matter be set for public hearing on <br />October 5th (MINUTE ORDER #59-149)s seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />ANTHONY J. & IRRY A. FRATES petition for exception to the strict application of Section 5.31 of Ordinance No. <br />631, the Subdivision Ordinance.of the City of Redwood Citys in respect to the Southerly 50 feet of Lot <br />5, Block 10,9 Friendly Acres Subdivision No. is Map No. 505., said property being located at 948 Haven <br />Avenue, to allow two lots of 5000 square feet each, one fronting on the new Rose Avenue extension and <br />one fronting an Haven Avenues instead of the required 6000 squa re feet each. There were no protests. <br />• Councilman Herkner moved adoption of RESOLUTION N0. 2872 AUTHORIZING EXCEPTION TO CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF <br />ORDINANCE NO. 631., BEING THE SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY., seconded by Councilman <br />Rosselli and carried unanimously on roll calls Councilman Spillers being noted absent. <br />Councilman Weymouth moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2873 DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY TO EXECTUION ON ITS CNN MOTION PROCEEDINGS TO ANNEX CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY (Lot <br />7s Block 2s Woodside Knolls)., seconded by Councilman Granger who asked if this was the correct procedure. <br />The Assistant Planning Director stated that this was the quickest way. The Planning Commission is not <br />initiating the proceedings. The motion carried on roll call with Councilmen Grangers Herkners Rossellis <br />Weymouth and Mayor Royer voting yes., Councilman Fields voting no and Councilman Spillers being noted <br />absent. <br />ANNUAL INVENTORY OF CRITICAL STREET DEFICIENCIES., JULY 1s 1959. After discussions Councilman Granger moved <br />to a cknowledge receipt of the report and asked that it be forwarded to the State (MINUTE ORDER #59-150)., <br />seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />Councilman Fields moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2874 APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS FOR A BACKHOE AND LOADER FOR <br />WATER DEPARTMENT USE; AND., AUTHORIZING CALL FOR BIDS THEREFOR, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and car- <br />ried unanimously on roll calls Councilman Spillers being noted absent. <br />REPOT ON BID OPENING= TRACTOR.-LOADER-ROTAVATOR EQUIPMENT BIDS. It was recommended that the bids be rejected. <br />Councilman Weymouth moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2875 REJECTING ALL BIDS RECEIVED BY CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITYs JULY 222 1959s FOR FURNISHING OF TRACTOR- LOADER AND ROTATING -TILLER EQUIPMENT FOR USE AT SENAGE <br />TREATMENT PLANTS seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried unanimously on roll calls Councilman Spillers <br />being noted absent. <br />Councilman Herkner moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2876 DEDICATING CERTAIN CITY-ONNED PROPERTY FaR ALLEY., <br />PUBLIC UTILITY AND OTHER MUNICIPAL PURPOSES (Farm Hill No. 3)s seconded by Councilman Fields and car - <br />vied unanimously on roll calls Councilman Spillers being noted absent. <br />3 Councilman Weymouth moved that the Clerk write a letters on behalf of the Councils to the Woments Club in <br />reference to their 50th Anniversapy (MINUTE ORDER #59--151), seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />E.E . Stallingss County Managers wrote a letter regarding the meeting on the Bradley -Burns Uniform Sales <br />Tax which is now scheduled for October 8th at 8:00 p. m# in the Supervisors Chambers in the Hall of <br />Justice and Records. <br />San Mateo County Governor's Advisory Committee on Children and Youth will hold a meeting on September <br />26th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hillsdale High School. <br />Redwood City School District asked for permission to cement the parking strip in f ront of Hawes School <br />on Roosevelt Avenue. Councilman Rosselli moved to grant the permit subject to obtaining a permit from <br />the Engineering Departments building to city specifications and agreeing to assume any expenses in- <br />
