355 <br />Block 31 Jefferson Acres; petition of Jack Werner, Jr. & Jackie Lou Werner to rezone portion of Lot 3, <br />Block 30, Oak Knoll Manors and petition of James and Loretta Herlihy to rezone portions of Lots 6, 7 <br />and 8, Finger Park Tracts and that public hearing on such matter be set for November 9th (MINUTE ORDER <br />#59-161), seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />COMMUNICATIONSt <br />American Association of University Women invited the Council and/or their representatives to a meet- <br />ing on October 12th at Tierra Linda School, San Carlos at which time Mro Wade Hover will speak on the <br />subject of "A Business Man Visits Japan" and discuss the Sister -City Program. <br />Assis tant Planning Director Knittel wrote a letter informing the Council that theapplication of Marco <br />Dondero, 197 Wellesley Crescent, to rezone his property from R-1 to an R-4 District was withdrawn and <br />will not be forwarded to the Council for further public hearings. This property was discussed as a <br />possible site for the Sequoia Mens Luncheon Club. <br />Mayor pro -tem Rosselli asked the City Manager to read his letter addressed to the Mayor with regard <br />to Price Industrial Tract. <br />Claims 30536 through 306339 totaling $56015.60, were ordered paid on motion of Councilman Spillers, sec- <br />onded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. <br />Councilman Spillers moved that the meeting bo adjourned and <br />that the regular meeting <br />of <br />October 19th be <br />cancelled, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />Meeting adjourned, 9:35 <br />P• <br />me <br />R. Dodge, Cit& Clerk <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />ro" October 26, 19592 8:00 P.M. <br />Invocation was led by Reverend Rowland Edgeworth, First Baptist Church. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present& Councilman Ron W. Fields, Floyd D. Granger, Sidney D. <br />Herkner, John Rosselli, Robert V.S pillers, Ray Weymouth, Mayor William H.Royer and City Clerk R. S. <br />Dodge. Also present were City Attorney Robert J. Costello, Police Chief William Faulstich, Assessor - <br />Auditor John J. Brophy, Assistant Planning Director Leonard Knittel, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, <br />Associate Building Inspector Be S. Gyselbrecht, Park Superintendent Pasco Balzarini and Deputy City <br />Clerk Vivian Holmquist. <br />Councilman Spillers moved that the minutes of October 5th be approved as mailed, seconded by Councilman <br />Fields and carried. <br />The Mayor announced that the matter of the truck ordinance was not on the agenda this week because they <br />wanted to wait for the final outcome on the decision of the Belmont truck ordinance. <br />row CONTINUATION CF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE LOYAL ORDER OF MOOSE appealing from the Board of Adjustments denial <br />of a use permit for .the construction of a lodge upon parcel 2 of Resubdivision of Lands of Oddstad <br />Homes. The public hearing was declared open and the affidavit of mailing was ordered filed. John Ge <br />Weaver, Bishop, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and Jack Wilson, 3636 Red oak Way, stated <br />their objections to the granting of the use permit. The Mayor read a letter -of protest from Frank to <br />awn <br />Suter, 3636 Jefferson Avenue, Louis Reed, representing the Moose Lodge, addressed the Council and spoke <br />at some length on the reasons why they should be granted the use permit and in particular referred to <br />Section 234231 of the Alcholic Beverage Control Act with regard to a Club Liquor License, Councilman <br />Granger moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried on roll <br />call. <br />Councilman Spillers moved to instruct the City Attorney to bring in a resolution granting the permit <br />
