410 [i
ACCEPTANCE OF SHKAGE WORKS ENLARGEMENT. It was recommended that this project be accepted subject to the follovr-
ing conditions:
1. Guarantee to repairs, replaces or correct any unsatisfactory conditions, or any defective material or
workmanship which appears within one year after acceptance, as set forth in the specifications.
2. The amount of
retention shall be determined by the City Engineer. % ..00
Councilman Herkner moved to accept the improvements subject to the above mentioned conditions (MINUTE ORDER
#60-32)s seconded by Councilman Granger and carried.
ACCEPTANCE OF DOUGLAS AVENUE STORM DRAINAGE PROJECT. It was recommended that this installation be accepted sub -
jest to:
1. Furnishing by the Contractor and the Fairbanks Morse Company of a certification that the pump and motor
meet the requirements of the specifications.
2. Guarantee for a period of two years against defective materials and workmanship.
Due to the construction of the pumping stations it is impracticable at this time to conduct a capacity test
on this pump. As this is a well -knows and reliable manufacturer, we feel that we can rely upon their written
assurance that 'the equipment meets the 'specifications.
The two year guarantees instead of a one year guarantee, was required because of the limited and periodic ,-,%
operation of this installation during heavy storms only. Norman defects might not appear within one year
u
unless we had an extensive rainy season.
The City Attorney pointed out that condition #1 was not a requirement of the contract and item #2 ono called
for a one year guarantee. However., the manufacturer agreed to the two year period and that is why the City
Engineer made his recommendations as such. Councilman Rosselli moved to accept moved to accept the install-
ation subject to the above mentioned conditions (MINUTE ORDER•#60-33), seconded by Councilman Herkner and
carried.
VIRGIL MASARIE APPEALS THE PLANNING COMMISSIONS DENIAL OF A TENTATIVE MAP subdividing a portion of Lot 21,
Woosters Whitton and Montgomery Subdivision with frontage on Roosevelt Avenue - 277.71 in width and 15uf
deep.
