-1-22 <br />Councilman Granger moved to authorize the City Clerk to accept and record the grant deed from City Title <br />Insurance Company for an easement for sewer purposes in a portion of Lot 2, Block 24, Oak Knoll Manor and <br />a grant deed from the Mountain View Savings and Loan Association for a sewer easement in a portion of Lot <br />2, Block 24, Oak Knoll Manor (MINUTE ORDER #60-69), seconded by Councilman Fields and carried. <br />Councilman Spillers moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 3008 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING SETTLEMENT OF EMINENT DOMAIN <br />ACTION NO. 854420 CITY OF REDWOCD CITY VS. DISTRICT ADVISORY BOARD OF THE NAZARENE CHURCH, ET. AL., seconded <br />by Councilman Fields and carried unanimously on roll call, Councilman Herkner being noted absent. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 3009 TRANSFERRING THE SUM OF $4,200 FROM CAPITAL PROJECTS <br />FUND, SPDCIAL PROJECTS, TO GAS TAX FUND, PROJECT NO. 66, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried unani- <br />mously on roll call, Councilman Herkner being noted absent. <br />Mrs. Willis Leslie, secretary for Horace Hawes Parent-Teacher Club, wrote that they endorse the fluoridation <br />program and asked that it be placed on the April ballot. The City Manager was asked to acknowledge the <br />letter. <br />Redwood City Woman's Club sent a check for $265.02 to the City through the efforts of its Junior Section to be <br />placed in a fund for the establishment of a Rose Garden at Community Park as proposed by the Park and <br />Recreation Commission and Park Department. If within two years the project, is not in progress then this <br />sum of $265.0[ will be returned to the Redwood City Woman's Club in full for re -deposit into their Club <br />Treasury. Councilman Fields moved that the City 1dhnager acknowledge the letter and then refer it to the <br />Park and Recreation Commission (MINUTE CRDER #60-70), seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />Archie E. Miller, 264 Upland Road, submitted a petition with 9 signatures asking that the Council let the <br />people decide whether Redwood City should or should not have an "Auditorium." <br />F. D. Freeman, President Parents and Teachers Organization, Benjamin Franklin Elementary School, conveyed a <br />resolution of appreciation to the City Council for its action assuring the building of a path on Harcross <br />Road for the convenience and safety of the school children. <br />Assembly Interim Committee on Municipal and County Government, California Legislature, requested City Attorney <br />Costello to appear and testify at a hearing in Oakland on May 5 and 6 in the new State Building, 1111 <br />Jackson Street commencing at 10:00 a. m. The meeting is being called so that the Committee can continue <br />its complete review of the present annexation lays and procedures to determine if changes are needed in <br />this field. Councilman Fields moved to allow the City Attorney to attend the meeting (MINUTE ORDER #60- <br />71), seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />Councilman Granger moved to authorize the City Manager to obtain An estimate as to the cost of filling up the <br />holes in the SP parking lot and bring back the report next week (MINUTE ORDER #60-72), seconded by Council- <br />man Rosselli and carried. <br />Claims 31986 through 32141, totaling $128,397.91, were ordered paid on motion of Councilman Spillers, seconded by <br />Councilman Fields and carried. <br />The City Clerk asked that they investigate the cost of installing a placque honoring all the people that trees <br />are planted for on other Arbor Days rather than just his tree. <br />Councilman Spillers moved that the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Councilman Fields and carried.
