3 9 8-1 <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />January 11, 1960s 8:00 P.M. <br />Invocation was led by Reverend P. N. Tilden, Calvary Baptist Church. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Ron W. Fields, Floyd D. Granger, Sidney D. Herkner, <br />John S. Rosselli, Robert V. Spillers, Ray Weymouth, Mayor William H. Royer and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. <br />Also present were City Manager J. E. Neal, City Attorney Robert J. Costello, Police Chief William F aulstich, <br />Assistant Planning Director Leonard Knittel, Planning Director Dick Wilkinson, Assessor -Auditor John J. <br />Brophy, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, Building Inspector S. H. Kreiss and Deputy City Clerk Vivian Holmquist. <br />Councilman Spillers moved approval of the minutes of January 4th as mailed, seconded by Councilman Granger and <br />carried. <br />CONTINUATION OF PUBLIC HEARING ON BROADWAY LIGHTING DISTRICT. The affidavit of publication was ordered filed. <br />The Clerk read the letter from the Southern Pacific Company wherein they stated that it was their policy <br />to remain neutral. There being no protests, written or oral, Councilman Spillers moved to close the public <br />hearing, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />Councilman Spillers moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2955 BEING THE RESOLUTION OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND <br />NECESSITY BROADWAY STREET LIGHTING, seconded by Caunci3 an Rasselli and carried unanimously on roll call. <br />Councilman Granger moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2956 APPROVING PLANS, PROFILES, DETAILED DRAWINGS AND <br />SPECIFICATIO14S BROADWAY STREET LIGHTING, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried unanimously on roll <br />call. <br />Councilman Weymouth moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2957 BEING THE RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT <br />CERTAIN PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS BROADWAY STREET LIGHTING, seconded by Councilman .Fields and carried unanimously <br />on roll call. <br />Councilman Herkner moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2958 FIXING MINIMUM WAGE SCALE BROADWAY STREET LIGHTING, <br />seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried unanimously on roll call. <br />Councilman Fields moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 2959 ORDERING CALL FOR BIDS BROADWAY STREET LIGHTING, <br />seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried unanimously on roll call. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 600 TO MODIFY REGULATIONS OF SUBSTANDARD LOTS <br />IN CERTAIN DISTRICTS. The affidavit of publication was ordered filed. There being no protests, written <br />or oral, Councilman Spillers moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and <br />carried. <br />Councilman Spillers moved introduction of an ordinance amending Sections 7.1(c), 8.1(c), 8.4(e) and 9.1(c) <br />of Ordinance No. 6002 being the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Redwood City, as adopted March 222 19482 <br />and as amended to date, to provide for the minimum area of a building site in certain residential districts <br />(MINUTE ORDER #60-8)9 seconded by Councilman Fields and carried. <br />Councilman Fields moved adoption of ORDINANCE NO. 957 AMENDING SECTION 192.12 OF ORDINANCE NO. 758, BEING THE <br />TRAFFIC ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, TO PROVIDE FOR A TWO HOUR PARKING RESTRICTION ON WHIPPLE <br />AVENUE BETWEEN EL CAMINO REAL AND ARCH STREET, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried unanimously on <br />roll call. The affidavit of publication was ordered filed. <br />Coupcilman Herkner moved adoption of ORDINANCE NO. 958 AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 935, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE OF THE <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ADOPTING THE FINAL BUDGET OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 1959 - <br />JUNE 30, 1960; PROVIDING FOR THE APPROPRIATION AND EXPENDITURE OF ALL SUMS SET FORTH IN SAID BUDGET; PRO- <br />VIDING FOR EMERGENCY EXPENDITURES, TRANSFERS, ADDITIONAL RPPROPRIATIONS AND CANCELLATIONS OF EXISTING AP- <br />PROPRIATIONS= AND, REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 904 AS A 0MED, AND ALL ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT <br />HE HEREWITH$," ADOPTED JUNE 22, 1959, TO CREATE THE PERMANENT POSITION OF JUNIOR TYPIST -CLERK IN THE PLANNING <br />
