The <br />motion carried on roll call with Councilmen Granger, Rosselli, Royer, Stehle and Mayor Weymouth voting yes, <br />004 <br />Councilman Fields abstaining and Councilman Herkner being noted absent. <br />The contractor for -the Jefferson Avenue widening improvements has completed all work in accordance with plans <br />and specifications for the project. The City Engineer recommended that the improvements be acceptwd subject <br />to correction of any defects in materials and workmanship which might appear within one year from date of <br />acceptance by the City Council and subject to payment of all accounts owed the City, seconded by Councilman <br />Rosselli and carried. Councilman Fields abstaining. ..,..+ <br />Tom Jones, representing the Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee, addressed the Council and offered to <br />donate 100 decorative concrete aggregate tubs, 40" in diameter and 18M deep, to be used to plant 100 trees <br />from El Camino Real to Main Street on both sides Broadway. In return for the tubs, they asked that the <br />City install the trees and maintain them. Councilman Rosselli moved to accept the offer of the trees and <br />maintain them* (MINUTE ORDER #60-1.111), seconded by Councilman Stehle and carried. <br />At the request of Paul Tessendorf, Councilman Royer moved that the Oity Manager be requested to send a let- <br />ter to the Sequoia High School asking that the students assist in trying to keep Broadway clean and tell <br />them about the tree planting (MINUTE ORDER #60-115), seconded by Councilman Stehle and carried. <br />APPROVEING SPECIFICATIONS FOR POLICE BOAT. As requested at the last meting, the Police Chief submitted his <br />report on the Police Boat.
