(public hearing Jun3 6, 1960) <br />Councilman Stehle moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 3076 DIRECTING SALE aF IMPROVEMENT BONDS REGENT STREET <br />EXTENSION, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried unanimously on roll call <br />Councilman Rosselli moved adoption of ORDINANCE N0. 968 ADDING SECTION 3.1 TO ORDINANCE NO. 437, ENTITLED <br />"ORDINANCE REGULATING FIRE AND CLOSING OUT SALES IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY," TO PROVIDE FOR THE FURN- <br />ISHING OF AN INSPECTI(Ad DEPOSIT IN CONNECTION WITH THE APPLICATION FOR A CLOSE OUT SALE PERMIT- AND PRO- <br />VIDING A PROCEDURE THEREWITH, seconded by Councilman..Fields. Councilman Granger raised the question as <br />to whether or not $100 was enough. This was followed by discussion after which the motion carried <br />unanimously on roll call vote. This figure is $20.60 <br />lower than the.' lowest of the first bids. <br />Councilman Herkner moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 3077 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR FURNISHING OF NEW <br />VEHICLES; AND REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS RECEIVED, seconded by Councilman Fields and carried unanimously <br />on roll call. <br />Councilman Royer moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 3078 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AGREEMENT FOR ACQUISITION <br />OF REAL PROPERTY OWNED BY PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY FOR PARKING LOT AND OTHER MUNICIPAL PURPOSES, <br />AND FOR REWCATION CF OVERHEAD WIRES AND OTHER INCIDENTAL UTILITY FACILITIES, seconded by Councilman <br />Granger and carried unanimously on roll call* <br />Chairman of the Park and Recreation Commission asked permission that Mrs. Catherine Brennan, Commission <br />member, be allowed to say a few words in reference to the Rose Garden. Mrs. Brennan asked for per- <br />mission Of the Council for the Park and Recreation Commission to proceed with plans for a Rose Garden <br />on an acre site on the Madison Avenue side of the creek b etween Valota Road and Community Park. Pasco <br />Balzarini, Alfred Morton and Dick Wilkinson also spoke on the matter. The Rose Society has offered to <br />donate, free of charge, 4000 rose bushes. After considerable discussion, Councilman Fields moved that <br />a committee be appointed to meet at a joint meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission and the <br />Veterans Memorial Commission and to report back to the Council within two weeks, seconded by Councilman <br />
