Fields, John S. Rosselli, William H. Royer, <br />Harold Co Stehle or Ra <br />� May y A. Weymouth and City Clerk Helen Co Moore* Councilmen Floyd D. Granger and <br />Sidney D• Herkner were noted absent. Also noted present were City Manager J. E.Neal, City Attorney Robert <br />J. Costello, Building Inspector S. H. Kreiss, Police Captain Theodore Moudakas, Deputy City Engineer Melvin <br />Moen, Assessor -Auditor John J. Brophy, Assistant Planning Director Leonard Knittel, Traffic Engineer Arthur <br />U. Eskeli.n, and Deputy City Clerk Vivian Rifbjerg. <br />Councilman Fields moved approval of the minutes of May 9, 1960s as mailed, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and <br />carried. <br />The Clerk administered the loyalty oath to Frederick Cheesebrough, Robert Cunningham, Norman S. Naughton, and <br />Bernard C. Nobler. Henry P. Tarratt was out of tam and could not be present at this time. The Mayor <br />congratulated the men and gave them their "certificate of appointment" to the Board of Review. <br />Continuation of public hearing on Leslie Annexation 2-B. Councilman Fields moved to continue the public hear- <br />ing to May 23rd, seconded by Councilman Stehle and carried. <br />Public hearing on the resolution of intention to amend Section 4.2 of Ordinance No. 600 to rezone from R-3 <br />District to R-2 District that property located in the vicinity of Hemlock, McEvoy, Center, Madrone and <br />Cypress Streets. The Planning Commission recommended that the property not be rezoned. The public hearing <br />was declared open and the affidavits of notice ordered filed. Joseph Jones, 247 Madrone Street, Harry <br />Mitchell, 135 Hemlock Avenue, and Mrs. Manuel Morales, 228 Madrone Street, asked that the property not be <br />rezoned. Councilman Rosselli asked when the Planning Department was going to submit their survey report <br />on Five Points. Councilman Fields asked the people in the audience if they realized that with the R-3 <br />zoning anyone may tear down an existing one family dwelling and erect a multiple family dwelling on the r <br />site. Interested persons in the audience responded in the affirmative. After discussion, Councilman <br />Rosselli moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Stehle and carried. Councilman <br />Rosselli moved to uphold the Planning Commission's recommendation and t erminate the proceedings (MINUTE <br />ORDER #60-132), seconded by Councilman Stehle and carried. <br />Public hearing on the resolution of intention by the Planning Commission to amend Section 4.3 of Ordinance No. <br />600 so that Official Plan Lines for the widening of Marshall Street between Maple Street and Chestnut <br />Street may be re-established. There being not protests, written or oral, Councilman Royer moved that the <br />public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Fields and carried. Councilman Rosselli moved adoption <br />of RESCLUTION N0. 3085 ESTABLISHING CFFICIAL PLAN LINES FOR THE WIDENING OF IMSHALL STREET BETNEEN MAPLE <br />STREET AND CHESTNUT STREET, seconded by Councilman Stehle and carried unanimously on roll call, Council- <br />men Granger and Herkner being noted absent. <br />Report on Bid opening, Police patrol boat.
