0 <br />0 <br />0 <br />unanimously on roll call, Councilmen Rosselli and Royer being noted absent. <br />Public hearing on the resolution of intention by the Planning Commission to amend Section 4.2 of Ordinance <br />No, 600 so that OFFICIAL PLAN LINES FOR THE EXTENSION OF NORTHUMBERLAND AND MADRONE STREET from the <br />terminus of Madrone Street to the centerline of Boicelli Avenue and from the -present terminus of North - <br />timberland to the proposed extension of Madrone Street may be established. The public hearing was de- <br />clared open and the affidavits of notice were ordered filed. Robert Hunter, attorney representing <br />Algiers Motel, the B oicelli's and the Devincenci's•, asked that the public hearing be continued until <br />Carlos Avenue plan lines are considered. Joseph Mell, Jr., representing the Boicelli family, said he <br />had no objection to the continuation of the hearing. Councilman Eerkner moved to continue the public <br />hearing to July lith (MINUTE ORDER #60-137), seconded by -Councilman Granger. The parties stipulated to <br />the date as no evidence was submitted. The motion carried. <br />Public hearing on the resolution of intention to amend Ordinance No. 600, being the Zoning Ordinance of the <br />City of Redwood City, TO LIMIT THE TIME IN WHICH APPLICATIONS FOR. VARIANCES, APPLICATIONS FOR USE FERMITS <br />AND PETITIONS FOR, AMENDMENTS MAY BE CONSIDERED PURSUANT TO SECTION 23.1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 600. The public <br />hearing was declared open and the affidavit of publication ordered filed. The Planning Commission re- <br />commended denial for the reason that it would not tend to lessen the work load of the staff and the <br />Planning Commission due to the small number of duplicate or near duplicate applications submitted and <br />tend to deny citizens the right to come before the Planning Commissions with applications. Bob Cunning- <br />ham recommended that the Council adopt the ordinance as did Reuel Myers. The Planning Staff recommended <br />approval of the ordinance also. Councilman Fields moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded by <br />Councilman Granger and carried. <br />Councilman Herknermoved introduction of an ordinance adding Sections 20.8, 21#8 and 23.6 to Ordinance <br />No. 600, the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance, providing for a limitation upon the time in which appli- <br />cations for variances, applications for use permits and -petitions for amendments may be reconsidered, <br />seconded by Councilman Fields and carried. <br />CONTINUATION CF REPORT ON BID OPENING, POLICE PATROL BOAT. Councilman Stehle reported that the Committee <br />had investigated the matter thoroughly and upheld the Police Chief's recommendation that the lour bid <br />be awarded to -B oatarama ($3,880.00). Councilman Fields moved adoption of RESOLUTION N0. 3088 AWARDING <br />CONTRACT FOR FURNISHING OF NESP POLICE BOAT; AND REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS RECEIVED, seconded by Council- <br />man Stehle and carried unanimously on roll call, Councilmen Rosselli and Ro yer being noted absent. <br />REPORT ON BID OPENING, DCWNTONN STREET SURFACING, 1960. The following bids were received: <br />Douglass & Woodhouse, Redwood City $17,520.66 <br />Freeman Paving Company, Palo Alto 17,895.72 <br />L. C. Smith Company, San Mateo 17,901.72 <br />Bragato Paving Companys Belmont 189002.88 <br />Sondgroth Bros. Construction Co., Mt. View 18,592.26 <br />The Engineer's estimate was $19,020.40. It was recommended that the low base bid of Douglass & W ood- <br />House be accepted and all other bids be rejected. Councilman Herkner moved adoption of RESCLUTION N0. <br />3089 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF RESURFACING OF STREETS IN DONNTOWN AREA, REDWOCD CITY; RE- <br />JECTING ALL OTHER BIDS RECEIVED; AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT THEREFOR, seconddd-by Council- <br />man Granger and carried unanimously on roll call, Councilmen Rosselli and Royer being noted absent. <br />REPORT ON BID OPENING,, POLICE CAR.
