479 <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />June 20, 1960, 8:00 P.M. <br />Invocation was led by City Clerk Helen Moore <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Ron W. Fields, Floyd D. Granger, <br />Sidney D. Herkner, John S. Rosselli, William H. Royer, Harold C. Stehle, Mayor Ray A. <br />Weymouth and City Clerk Helen C. Moore. Also present were City Manager J. E. Neal, <br />City Attorney Robert J. Costello, Planning Director Dick Wilkinson, Building Inspector <br />S. H. Kreiss, Assessor -Auditor John J. Brophy, Assistant Planning Director Leonard <br />Knittel, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, Police Chief William Faulstich and Deputy <br />City Clerk Vivian Rifbjerg. <br />Councilman Herkner moved approval of the minutes of June 12 and June 15, 1960, as mailed <br />seconded by Councilman Fields and carried. <br />�.. The Clerk administered the loyalty oath to Robert Bury and Myron Evans Harman, members of <br />the Port Commission, and A. P. Patten, member of the Library Board of Trustees. <br />„r Norris C. Cummings, member of the Library Board of Trustees, was not present due to <br />illness. The Mayor presented the certificates of appointment and asked the City <br />Clerk to deliver the certificate to Mr. Cummings as well as administer his loyalty <br />oath. <br />In <br />60 <br />CONTINUATION OFiPUBLIC'HEARING ON LESLIE ANNEXATION 2-B. Councilman Rosselli moved that <br />the public hearing be continued to June 27th, seconded by Councilman Stehle and carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON THE RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL TO AMEND SECTION 4.2 <br />OF ORDINANCE NO. 600 TO REZONE CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE VICINITY OF GOODWIN AVENUE <br />AND MITCHELL WAY FROM "U” DISTRICT TO R-1 DISTRICT, COONAN PROPERTY. The public <br />hearing was declared open and the affidavits of Mtice were ordered filed. The Clerk <br />read the report of the Planning Commission who recommended the property be rezoned <br />from "U" Unclassified to R -1-B-1 District, with a minimum of 10,000 square feet per <br />lot. Harold Shaw, 1339 Recreation Way, spoke for some of the people in his <br />neighborhood and favored the rezoning. There being no protests, written or oral, <br />Councilman Rosselli moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman <br />Fields. Councilman Royer raised the question as to whether or not Mr. Coonan had <br />been notified that his property was being rezoned. The Council was informed that <br />a post card had been mailed to him along with the other residents in the area. The <br />motion carried. <br />Councilman Fields moved introduction of an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 600 <br />the Zoning Ordinance, to rezone certain property in the vicinity of Goodwin Avenue <br />and Mitchell Way from "U" District to "R -1-B-1" District, seconded by Councilman <br />Royer and carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PETITION OF R. D. SIFFORD AND AMANDA DAHLITZ BERGER to amend <br />Section 4.2 of Ordinance No. 600 to rezone from R-1 to C -N or C -1-H District, Lots <br />3, 4 and 6 in Block 9 as designated on the map entitled Kensington Square, located <br />on the Southerly most corner of Jefferson Avenue and Alameda de las Pulgas. The <br />public hearing was declared open and the affidavits of notice were ordered filed. <br />The clerk read the report of the Planning Commission wherein they recommended the <br />petititn be denied on the basis that the area to be rezoned would be separated from <br />
