Councilman Royer moved <br />that this matter be set for public hearing on July 11th, seconded by Councilman Fields <br />and carried. <br />Councilman Herkner moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 3131 APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS FOR A NEW <br />POLICE CAR; AND, AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO CALL FOR BIDS THEREFOR, seconded by Councilman <br />Fields and carried unanimously on roll call, Councilman Stehle being noted absent. <br />04 <br />Councilman Herkner moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 3132 TRANSFERRING THE SUM OF $125 FROM <br />THE CITY MANAGER CAPITAL OUTLAY ACCOUNT TO THE CITY MANAGER SUPPLIES AND SERVICES <br />ACCOUNT AND THE CITY MANAGER MOTOR VEHICLE ACCOUNT AND APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $500 <br />FROM THE UNBUDGETED UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE OF THE GENERAL FUND TO POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />MOTOR VEHICLE ACCOUNT, seconded by Councilman Fields and carried unanimously on roll <br />call, Councilman Stehle being noted absent. <br />APPOINTMENTS TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION. Councilman Rosselli offered the name of Merritt <br />Snyder, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. Councilman Granger offered the name <br />of Gerald Bedbury, seconded by Councilman Fields and carried. <br />The Clerk administered the loyalty oath to Merritt Snyder and words of congratulation <br />were extended by the Mayor. Mr. Snyder will receive his certificate of appointment at <br />a later date. <br />CLAIM FOR ALLEGED DAMAGES, ROBERT C. AND ELSIE BIDDLE, 250 Upland Road. Councilman Fields <br />moved that the claim be denied and referred to the insurance carrier (MINUTE ORDER #60-160), <br />seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br />Councilman Granger moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 3133 GRANTING REVOCABLE PERMISSION TO <br />THE OWNER OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY TO UTILIZE A PORTION OF PUBLIC PARKING LOT NO. 4 FOR <br />INGRESS AND EGRESS TO MIDDLEFIELD ROAD (Paul A. McCarthy), seconded by Councilman Fields. <br />Councilman Granger moved adoption of this resolution with the stipulation that the <br />document be recorded and a letter approving the permit is on file from the Parking <br />District Attorney. The motion carried unanimously on roll call, Councilman Stehle being <br />noted absent. <br />Councilman Fields moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 3134 URGING BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF SAN <br />MATEO COUNTY TO PROCEED WITH THE EXTENSION OF RDGEWOOD ROAD WESTERLY FROM ITS PRESENT <br />TERMINUS TO STATE HIGHWAY ROUTE NO. 1, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried unanimously <br />on roll call, Councilman Stehle being noted absent. <br />COMMUNICATIONS; <br />Report from the Police Chief regarding the closing of Broadway from Jefferson Avenue to <br />Winslow Street on Thrusday, July 14, 1960, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. for "SIDEWALK DAYS". <br />He recommended that the request to close Broadway be denied. Councilman Granger moved to <br />
