489 <br />deny the request to close Broadway for Sidewalk Days (MINUTE ORDER #60-161), seconded <br />by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />Councilman Royer moved that the Council go on record opposing AB --2755, truck routes (MINUTE <br />ORDER #60-162), seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />Councilman Royer moved that the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Councilman Fields and <br />carried. Moore, City Clerk <br />r <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />July 11, 1960, 8:00 P.M. <br />The Clerk called the meeting to order and asked for nominations for Mayor pro -tem for the <br />evening due to the absence of Mayor Weymouth. Councilman Royer moved that Councilman <br />Granger be Mayor pro -tem, seconded by Councilman Herkner. Councilman Rosselli moved <br />that the nominations be closed and a white ballot cast for Councilman Granger, seconded <br />by Councilman Stehle and carried. <br />Invocation was led by Reverend Howard McConnel, Woodside Village Church. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Sidney D. Herkner, John S. <br />Rosselli, William H. Royer, Harold C. Stehle, Mayor pro -tem Floyd D. Granger and City <br />LM <br />Clerk Helen C. Moore. Councilman Ron W. Fields and Mayor Ray Weymouth were noted <br />absent. Also present were City Attorney Robert J. Costello, Building Inspector S. H. <br />Kreiss, Police Chief William Faulstich, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, Assessor -Auditor <br />John J. Brophy, Fire Chief J. L. Lodi, Water Superintendent H. L. Winter and Deputy <br />City Clerk Vivian Rifbjerg. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved approval of the minutes of June 27th as mailed, seconded by <br />Councilman Stehle and carried. <br />The Mayor pro -tem asked the City Attorney to make his report on the suit filed by S & Q <br />Construction Company. Mr. Costello reported that the City won the judgement and the <br />contract has been executed by the successful bidder. He also reported on the law <br />rn" suits filed bn the Leslie Annexations. The City won the judgement and is now eligible <br />Lto collect the taxes on these annexations effective this year. Both of these judge- <br />ments have a 60 day appeal period. Councilman Herkner moved to commend the City <br />Attorney and his staff for their fine work (MINUTE ORDER #60-163), seconded by <br />Councilman Rosselli and carried unanimously on roll call, Councilman Fields and Mayor <br />Weymouth being noted absent. <br />Report of Chamber of Commerce Sign Committee was received by the Council and the Mayor pro - <br />tem appointed a council committee to meet with the Chamber of Commerce Committee. <br />Those appointed were Councilmen Rosselli, chairman, Herkner and Stehle. <br />
