491
property is adjacent to Mr. Johnson's and he wants his property rezoned R -3-G.
Mr. Larson, representing Mr. Anderson on Oxford Street, objected to this rezoning
stating that his client was turned down a few weeks ago because his request would
be spot rezoning and this was the same type of rezoning. Councilman Rosselli moved
!^w,
that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried.
L
Councilman Rosselli moved to deny the recommendation of the Planning Commission,
seconded by Councilman Stehle. The motion carried on roll call with Councilmen
Herkner, Rosselli, Stehle and Mayor pro -ton Granger voting yes, Councilman Royer
voting no and Councilman Fields and Mayor Weymouth being noted absent.
Councilman Rosselli moved to direct the City Attorney to prepare a resolution of
intention to rezone the front half of the property fronting on Gordon Street between
Palm and Redwood Avenues from R-2 to R -3-G, seconded by Councilman Stehle. Councilman
Royer amended the motion that this be referred back to the Planning Commission with
the thought in mind that they give consideration to a resolution of intention to
rezone to R -3-G whatever portion of the block between Palm and Redwood Avenues on
Gordon Street should be rezoned (MINUTE ORDER #60-165), seconded by Councilman
Herkner and carried on roll call with Councilmen Herkner, Royer, Stehle and Mayor
pro -tem Granger voting yes, Councilman Rosselli voting no and Councilman Fields and
Mayor Weymouth being noted absent.
REQUEST OF BURTON TURNER REQUESTING ABANDONMENT OF PUBLIC UTILITIES EASEMENT ACROSS LOTS
4 AND 5, BLOCK 1, FARM HILL NO. 3. Both the PG&E and PT&T have submitted letters of
consent to this abandonment since an alternate easement has been granted to the PG&E
Company at a different location which satisfies their present and future needs. As
the owner is anxious to start construction of a swimming pool and the abandonment
proceeding will require considerable time, the City Engineer recommends the granting
of a revocable permit for the construction of the swimming pool pending completion,
of the abandonment proceedings. Councilman Herkner moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO.
3136 BEING A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO VACATE A PUBLIC UTILITY EASEMENT, seconded
by Councilman Rosselli and carried unanimously on roll call, Councilman Fields and
Mayor Weymouth being noted absent. (Public Hearing August 1st).
P'^
Councilman Royer moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 3137 AUTHORIZING ISSUANCE OF REVOCABLE
ENCROACHMENT PERMIT TO MR. BURTON TURNER, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried
unanimously on roll call, Councilman Fields and Mayor Weymouth being noted absent.
7 City Auditor requests cancellation of taxes in removal on tax roll of the following
jam„ property now acquired by the City for public purposes
Grantor: L. M. & Mabel R. Hanson for a portion of Lot 11, Block E, Woodside
Acres (Regent Street) $1.72
