He suggested the Planning Commission <br /> HILLSIDE) AND R-1 (RESIDENTIAL--SINGLE FAMIL had presented a paucity of information as to <br /> ZONING DISTRICTS the necessity to amend the Zoning Ordinance. <br /> Discussion followed and Mr. Schricker comnented <br /> and replied to question concerning the diffi- <br /> culties of providing seWerage, emergency <br /> services and public transportation to buildings <br /> on steep lots and the General Plan goals of a <br /> reduction of density where such is the case. <br /> Mr. Schricker oointed out that the Subdivision <br /> Act corotains provisions re�arding structural <br /> requirements and cautioned that there may be <br /> concern that it is the intent of Council to <br /> use zoning to create open space by making <br /> certain property unbuildable. <br /> SUBSTITUTE MOTIOM: Rhodes/Biagi to refer back <br /> to the Planning Comnission the proposed ordi- <br /> nance to amend the Zoning Ordinanee regarding <br /> hillside lots for further study and considera- <br /> tion of an alternative legisTative approach. � <br /> The substitute motion carried by majority voice � <br /> vote.
