(MINUTE ORDER NO , 74- 14) <br /> Approval of warrants nos . 3479 through 3654 , totaling $189 , 100 . 79 . <br /> The motion carried unanimously by roll call vote . <br /> Solid Waste Management Planning <br /> City Manager Fales called attention to his information report to Council of <br /> January 11 concerning solid waste management planning and the need for a Council <br /> appointment to be made by February 1 to the Solid Waste Advisory Committee . <br /> Written Communications <br /> Letter from Life Scout Mike Coleman of Belmont , California re availability of <br /> public buildings to handicapped persons . Mr . Coleman spoke concerning the <br /> difficulties handicapped persons might encounter in City administered build - <br /> ings and urged action be taken to facilitate their use of the buildings <br /> through the use of ramps , railings , doors wide enough to accommodate wheel - <br /> chairs and other such construction . <br /> Mayor Keckley expressed the intention of Council to meet the needs stated by <br /> Mr . Coleman with regard to new construction . He called attention to the extra <br /> step provided on City buses and the new Fair Oaks Community Center and advised <br /> that while improvements to existing buildings are continually being made , it <br /> would not be economically practical to reconstruct very old buildings which <br /> should be replaced . <br /> Adjournment <br /> MOTION : Councilman Henderson moved , seconded by Councilman Norris , to adjourn . <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote . <br /> The Council adjourned at 8 : 40 p . m . <br /> Jacqueline C .
