408
that the provisions of the ordinance shall not be applicable to the City,
and in his view this use of the property was legal with respect to this
project .
Councilman Rhodes expressed his disapproval of using "R--1" residential
zoning for storing private contractor ' s equipment . He then made a motion
to enforce the Zoning Ordinance and that the contractor be asked to remove
his equipment from the area, and to allow the contractor to use City property
for the purpose . Motion died for a lack of a second .
After further discussion it was brought out that this was normal procedure ,
and authorized administratively . Also , that consent had been given the
contractor by the owner of the lot , and that this would be a temporary
situation of about 45 to 60 days maximum . It was felt that perhaps staff
would respond to Council ' s concern that temporary storage sites should have
their unattractiveness minimized , should be close to work sites , but used
as briefly as possible .
2 . Metropolitan Transportation Commission , notice of meeting on May
24th ( rescheduled ) , and requesting representation of cities in County having
made allocation requests for SB 325 funds , to discuss ways and means of
coordinating existing or proposed public transportation systems within
County . Councilman Henderson indicated she would attend, and staff will
also be represented .
3 . County Engineer ' s notification of progress report to be given on
San Mateo County Water Quality Management Program, May 23 , and expressing
the hope City would be represented . City indicated staff will cover this
meeting also .
City Manager reported another communication had been received from the
County as a follow-up to their previous letter, relating to this meeting
on May 23rd , and that the policy makers be reminded they are specifically
invited to attend, since they would like input from City Councils . The
meeting is in Daly City, at 7 : 30 p .m . Councilmen Williams and Norris
indicated they may attend .
4 . Recommendation of Executive Board of Roy W . Cloud P . T . A . for a
crossing guard at Farm Hill Blvd . for safety of children due to increased
traffic and speeding drivers . It was noted that the staff would have a
report on this before the 1st of September .
5 . Request of Economic Opportunity Commission ( EOC ) for selection of
City representative to their Agency before June 15th, so that appointment
to the Commission may be made by Board of Supervisors by July 1st .
5/21/73
Reg .
