Staff
report indicated that for the small volume of street maintenance and
operations activities performed by City personnel , commercial delivery
for less than six cubic yards requires payment of a large penalty , and
entails loss of ability to schedule specific time for delivery . Current
budget provides allocation of $ 9 , 000 for purchase of a two -yard cement
transit-mixer truck , which will allow personnel to purchase materials
at the batch plant when required , and mix during travel to the job site .
Mixer would prevent materials from setting during transport to further
stops during the day .
Councilman Williams moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6877 APPROVING SPECIFICA -
TIONS FOR THE FURNISHING OF ONE TRUCK-MOUNT O TRANSIT-MIXER ; AND , AUTHORIZ -
ING CITY CLERK TO CALL FOR BIDS THEREFOR , seconded by Councilman Henderson
and carried on roll call vote .
Proposed agreement with the County of San Mateo to provide for the issuance
of parking permits for juror parking . Staff report recommended that in
order to increase use of City parking facilities and to assist the County
in providing parking for jurors , an agreement had been prepared whereby
City would issue the Jury Commissioner numbered permits , to be issued to
empaneled jurors for use at any 10-hour meter, or the City-owned un-
metered Bradford Street lot . City would bill the County quarterly at the
rate of $7 . 00 per juror per month . Councilman Henderson suggested that
it would be appropriate to have a report back to Council at the end of
the initial quarter .
