264 <br /> Councilman Williams moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6855 ORDERING <br /> STREET SUPERINTENDENT TO ABATE WEEDS , DIRT, RUBBISH AND RANK <br /> GROWTHS , seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried on roll <br /> call vote , Councilman Rhodes being noted absent . <br /> Councilman Weymouth moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6856 AWARDING <br /> CONTRACT IN CONNECTION WITH THE WEED ERADICATION PROGRAM IN THE <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, seconded by Councilman Norris and carried <br /> on roll call vote , Councilman Rhodes noted absent . <br /> Recommendation of Council Waterfront Committee on Interim Land Use <br /> Plan by the San Mateo County Airport Land Use Committee . <br /> Councilman Norris presented a brief review of the background on <br /> the proposal . He noted that the Waterfront Committee is charged <br /> with development of a Waterfront Element of the General Plan, and <br /> that along with the review of various activities within this sphere <br /> of influence was the San Carlos Airport . Following review of the <br /> Airport Land Use Committee Report , it was recommended by the Water- <br /> front Committee that the Plan not be adopted at this time . It was <br /> felt that the concept was sound and the airport did need to be <br /> protected , but that it would be premature at this time to adopt <br /> this Plan . He noted that Redwood ; City had received some criticism , <br /> based on concern with respect to allowing a shopping center at the <br /> end of a runway . He felt it would be appropriate to clarify that <br /> issue , noting that a proposal by Mobil Oil Estates showed conclu- <br /> sively there were alternatives available , none of which would provide <br /> a safety hazard . <br /> Mayor Keckley commended the Committee on its report ( for full <br /> text , see City Clerk ' s File ) and invited Councilman Norris to <br /> read the proposed Resolution . <br /> Councilman Henderson moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6857 REQUESTING <br /> AIRPORT LAND USE COMMITTEE OF SAN MATEO COUNTY REGIONAL PLANNING <br /> COMMITTEE TO DEFER ACTION ON PROPOSED INTERIM LAND USE PLAN, <br /> seconded by Councilman Leipzig and carried on roll call vote , <br /> Councilman Rhodes being noted absent . <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR : <br /> (a ) Adoption of ORDINANCE NO . 1552 APPROPRIATING $ 52 , 000 FROM <br /> UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE OF CAPITAL OUTLAY FUND TO PROVIDE <br /> FOR CONSTRUCTION AND OTHER COSTS RELATING TO THE FAIR OAKS <br /> COMMUNITY CENTER PROJECT AND RELATED IMPROVEMENTS . <br /> 1/8/73 <br />
