326 COMMUNICATIONS : ( a ) WRITTEN - Copies submitted to Council . 1 . Louis L . Knowles , for Joint Strategy and Action Committee of Southern San Mateo County, urging Council action in support of other cities protesting commuter fare increase proposed by Southern Pacific Railroad . (b ) ORAL communications ( none ) Councilman Williams moved to accept Communications , seconded by Councilman Leipzig and carried . Vice-Mayor Henderson noted that two nominations had been submitted by Council for the current vacancy on the Planning Commission for unexpired term ex- piring June 1975 , Mrs . Marjorie A . Guida and Mr . Richard E . Arnold . For term which will be expiring at a later time on the Planning Commission, Vice-Mayor Henderson had offered the name of Elise Johnson in nomination . Councilman Leipzig moved to close nominations for the Vacancy on the Planning Commission, for term expiring June 1975 , seconded by Councilman Norris and carried . Vice-Mayor Henderson indicated the matter of filling this vacancy would be voted on at the next Council meeting ( April 2 , 1973 ) . Councilman Rhodes nominated Mr . Fred Soderer for reappointment to the Planning Commission for new term beginning in June 1973 . Vice-Mayor Henderson noted that Mr . Bacigalupi ' s term would also be up at the same time , and felt that it would be appropriate to set up a schedule of appointment for those terms . She suggested close of nominations be scheduled for April 16 , 1973 . On the Park and Recreation Commission , Vice-Mayor Henderson noted that William Warren ' s term would be expiring in April , and that he indicated an interest in serving again . She therefore offered his name in nomina- tion for reappointment to the Park and Recreation Commission for term expiring June , 1977 . There being no further nominations , Councilman Leipzig moved to close nominations for Park and Recreation Commission , seconded by Councilman Rhodes and carried . Councilman Norris informed Council that he had contacted Mr . Constant Davis , Architectural Committee Member , and was advised that because of press of business he would be unable to continue on the Committee , so there will be that vacancy to fill . He is expected to submit a letter of resignation . 3/26/73 Reg . Mtg .
