469 '
Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6701 GRANTING EXCEPTION TO
CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF RMWOOD CITY
TANKLAGE CONSTRUCTION CO . , INC . , AND HANS EGGLI , seconded by Councilman
Petersen .
Planning Commission had considered the Application at their meeting of
March 28 , 1972 , and recommended that Council grant the exception . Detailed
Planning staff report and excerpt from Planning Commission minutes , were
submitted to Council , wherein application to subdivide one parcel into
four parcels was approved , subject to several conditions . Councilman
Henderson noted that Condition No . 3 , pertaining to water service to the
subdivision , had been changed from that recommended in the original staff
report to the Commission , eliminating the phrase , "and , should any additional
services be required , that they be installed at no expense to the City of
Redwood City . " Councilman Petersen stated that elsewhere in the report ,
it was indicated that if there was need for additional sizing of the water
line , which appeared imminent , formation of an assessment district would satisfy
the need , He did not feel it was necessary to change the stipulation .
Planning Director indicated that both versions correctly reflected the
recommendations of the Planning Commission , and that applicant found the
expanded wording somewhat uncomfortable . Councilman Henderson moved that
the Resolution be amended to include the language in Condition 3 in the
version originally set out by the Planning staff . Cty Manager advised that
recommendations would be made to Council in terms of the budget , and felt that
the key words were " service to the subdivision " , It was not anticipated
that if additional service to the subdivision is required , this tmuld be
borne by the City , nor was it anticipated that improvements to the system
to service that area would be at the sole expense of the developer . The
intent was that only that service required by the applicant obviously is
his responsibility .
( Councilman Williams entered the meeting at 7 : 55 P . M . )
Motion to amend Resolution died for lack of a second .
Main motion for adoption of the Resolution carried on roll call vote .
Application of SIDNEY and MARY DE ZORDO for Exception to Subdivision Ordinance
to allow one parcel to have 25 feet of street frontage where 50 feet is
`--- required , at 1353 Edgewood Road , in "RH " (Residential-Hillside ) District .
Planning Commission had considered the Application at their meeting of
March 28 , 1972 , and recommended that Council grant the exception . Report
was submitted to Council .
4-10 -72
