1 <br /> Minutes of Regular Meeting <br /> Redwood City Council <br /> May 1 , 1972 7 : 30 P . M . <br /> Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilman Williams . <br /> Invocation was led by Marian McCrindle , City Clerk . <br /> ON ROLL CALL, the following were noted present : Councilmen Mary W . Henderson , <br /> Marguerite Leipzig , Robert E . Norris , William C . Rhodes , Ray A . Weymouth , James S . <br /> Williams , Mayor Paul C . Keckley , and City Clerk Marian McCrindle . Also noted present <br /> were City Manager James M . Fales , Jr . , City Attorney David E . Schricker , Assistant <br /> City Manager James M . Smith , Police Chief John R . McDonald Jr . , Chief Building <br /> Official Charles Gyselbrecht and Deputy City Clerk Frances I . Reggetts . <br /> The following Government Affairs Program students were noted present on roll call : <br /> Julie Gaddini , Patti Bury , John Goodrich , Ed Velasquez , Mike Borissenko , <br /> Mike Hite and Brock Riddle . <br /> Councilman Weymouth moved to approve , as submitted , Minutes of Regular Meeting of <br /> April 24 , 1972 , seconded by Councilman Williams and carried . <br /> Continued PUBLIC HEARING , Abatement of Nuisance , 3500 Highland Avenue . <br /> Public hearing was opened on January 24 , 1972 , and continued three times at <br /> recommendation of Chief Building Official in anticipation that settlement of <br /> property ownership by the court might be concluded . <br /> Chief Building Official advised that it was his recommendation the proceedings <br /> be terminated , and placed into evidence a letter received that day from <br /> William H . Royer, 1047 Whipple Avenue , requesting a building permit to cover <br /> refurbishing of the property at 3500 Highland Avenue . He indicated that based <br /> on the application , he felt assured that work would probably proceed by the end <br /> of the week . <br /> Councilman Henderson moved to terminate the proceedings , seconded by Councilman <br /> Rhodes and carried . ( MINUTE ORDER #72-94 ) <br /> Councilman Henderson moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6710 SETTING TIME AND PLACE OF <br /> PUBLIC HEARING ON ANNUAL BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1 , 1972 - JUNE 30 , 1973 ; <br /> ORDERING PUBLIC NOTICE BE GIVEN OF SAID HEARING AND OF THE FACT THAT COPIES OF <br /> --=� SAID PROPOSED BUDGET ARE AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC INSPECTION IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY <br /> CLERK , ( sets public hearing for June 19 , 1972 ) , seconded by Councilman Rhodes . <br /> City Manager indicated that this represented the proposed operating budget for <br /> 1972- 1973 fiscal year , and that it would be supplemented on or about June 1 , <br /> 1972 by a complete five year Capital Improvement Budget , covering <br /> 1972 - 1973 . Councilman Henderson raised the question of whether <br /> this would require a day-long budget session , similar to the meeting scheduled <br /> for May 13th , and upon City Manager ' s affirmative response , felt that it was <br /> 5- 1-72 <br />
