1 Minutes of Regular Meeting Redwood City Council May 1 , 1972 7 : 30 P . M . Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilman Williams . Invocation was led by Marian McCrindle , City Clerk . ON ROLL CALL, the following were noted present : Councilmen Mary W . Henderson , Marguerite Leipzig , Robert E . Norris , William C . Rhodes , Ray A . Weymouth , James S . Williams , Mayor Paul C . Keckley , and City Clerk Marian McCrindle . Also noted present were City Manager James M . Fales , Jr . , City Attorney David E . Schricker , Assistant City Manager James M . Smith , Police Chief John R . McDonald Jr . , Chief Building Official Charles Gyselbrecht and Deputy City Clerk Frances I . Reggetts . The following Government Affairs Program students were noted present on roll call : Julie Gaddini , Patti Bury , John Goodrich , Ed Velasquez , Mike Borissenko , Mike Hite and Brock Riddle . Councilman Weymouth moved to approve , as submitted , Minutes of Regular Meeting of April 24 , 1972 , seconded by Councilman Williams and carried . Continued PUBLIC HEARING , Abatement of Nuisance , 3500 Highland Avenue . Public hearing was opened on January 24 , 1972 , and continued three times at recommendation of Chief Building Official in anticipation that settlement of property ownership by the court might be concluded . Chief Building Official advised that it was his recommendation the proceedings be terminated , and placed into evidence a letter received that day from William H . Royer, 1047 Whipple Avenue , requesting a building permit to cover refurbishing of the property at 3500 Highland Avenue . He indicated that based on the application , he felt assured that work would probably proceed by the end of the week . Councilman Henderson moved to terminate the proceedings , seconded by Councilman Rhodes and carried . ( MINUTE ORDER #72-94 ) Councilman Henderson moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6710 SETTING TIME AND PLACE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON ANNUAL BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1 , 1972 - JUNE 30 , 1973 ; ORDERING PUBLIC NOTICE BE GIVEN OF SAID HEARING AND OF THE FACT THAT COPIES OF --=� SAID PROPOSED BUDGET ARE AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC INSPECTION IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK , ( sets public hearing for June 19 , 1972 ) , seconded by Councilman Rhodes . City Manager indicated that this represented the proposed operating budget for 1972- 1973 fiscal year , and that it would be supplemented on or about June 1 , 1972 by a complete five year Capital Improvement Budget , covering 1972 - 1973 . Councilman Henderson raised the question of whether this would require a day-long budget session , similar to the meeting scheduled for May 13th , and upon City Manager ' s affirmative response , felt that it was 5- 1-72
