City Manager indicated complete information <br /> would go to Council in the next agenda package to them. <br /> Public Safety - Upon instigation of Redwood City, Fire Departments of <br /> Belmont , San Carlos , Menlo Park , Woodside and Division of Forestry <br /> were studying the question of joint training, to avoid duplication of <br /> fire training activities . <br /> A committee , consisting of Chief of. Police , Planning Director , County <br /> Health Department representatives and a representative from the <br /> S . P . C . A . , had met and would continue to meet quarterly to review <br /> care and maintenance of animals at Marine World , <br /> Public Works - Adjacent property owners along East Fuller Street , <br /> between Middlefield and Jefferson , have requested the street be abandoned , <br /> Meetings had been held with property owners to outline procedure and <br /> requirements . Under consideration is development of "United Artist " <br /> property between Bayshore and Veterans Blvd . This possible development <br /> may require partial abandonment of Walnut Street . <br /> Two alternate plans for El Camino -Whipple to Oak channelization and <br /> signal modification had been presented to affected property owners . <br /> An over-all planning study of El Camino was requested before further <br /> consideration be given to alternate plans . Study should be completed <br /> by August , <br /> Surveying by State for construction of a median strip on El Camino , <br /> closing Chestnut , had been completed . <br /> City was still unable to obtain permission from Regional Water Quality <br /> Control Board to construct a second bay connection (Belpipe ) for the <br /> interior waterways system in Redwood Shores . Manager ' s office was <br /> pressing for immediate meeting to resolve the question , <br /> Neptune Beach remained closed to swimmers since discovery of sewage <br /> near the storm drain outlet . An abandoned sewer line , which had been <br /> difficult to locate , was felt to be the cause and was removed . County <br /> Health Department had reinstituted samplings , and City would be informed <br /> after tests have been made if the problem had been remedied . <br /> In response to question by Councilman Norris , City Manager advised <br /> there was no alternate course to clearing up the water to permit <br /> swimming this summer . <br /> 5-8-72 <br />
