Martin and Stenographer Louise Kroeck . <br /> The following Government Affairs Program students were noted present on roll <br /> call : Julie Gaddini , Patti Bury , John Goodrich , Ed Velasquez , Mike <br /> Borissenko , Mike Hite and Brock Riddle . <br /> Councilman Weymouth moved to approve , as mailed , Minutes of Regular Meeting <br /> of May 8 , 1972 and Minutes of Adjourned Regular Meeting of May 9 , 1972 , <br /> seconded by Councilman Williams and carried . <br /> PUBLIC HEARING , Abatement of Nuisance , 1339 Oxford Street, declared open and <br /> affidavit of posting ordered filed . <br /> Mr . Gyselbrecht , Chief Building Official , was sworn in by the City <br /> Clerk , then presented his detailed report of findings relative to <br /> deteriorated condition of the subject property , 1339 Oxford Street , <br /> Redwood City , Assessor ' s No , 059-037 -050 . <br /> He stated that the Building Department ' s complete , original report , <br /> with photographs , had been filed with the City Clerk . The photographs <br /> were then passed to Council for their viewing . The report related that <br /> on February 23 , 1972 the Department received a citizen ' s complaint relative <br /> to the deteriorated condition of the subject property . Investigation revealed <br /> numerous substandard conditions , extensive deterioration and ready access <br /> to the interior of the evidently abandoned dwelling . The housing inspec - <br /> tion report dated March 24 , 1972 cited a number of violations of the <br /> Uniform Building Code ( Ordinance No . 1381) relating to structural hazards , <br /> unsanitary and otherwise faulty weather protection and hazardous fire <br /> conditions . "Notice to Abate Nuisance " was posted on April 25 , 1972 which <br /> set City Council public hearing for May 15 , 1972 . Letters were sent by <br /> the Department to the subject owner of the property and to this date no <br /> response has been received . <br /> Chief Building Official also noted in his report that it was in the <br /> Department ' s opinion that rehabilitation and repairs to correct the <br /> deficiencies in accordance with the City ' s Codes will require expenditures <br /> of $ 12 , 000 . 00 to $14 , 000 . 00 . Demolition cost is estimated at $800 . 00 to <br /> $ 1 , 000 . 00 . <br /> Following additional discussion and noting there was no response from any <br /> concerned parties , Councilman Weymouth moved to close the public hearing , <br /> seconded by Councilman Rhodes and carried . <br /> 5 -15-72 <br />
