Councilman Williams moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 6720 DECLARING STRUCTURE LOCATED
AT 1339 OXFORD STREET IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE,
DIRECTING THE OWNER TO ABATE SAID NUISANCE, AND ORDERING THE EXPENSE OF
ABATEMENT TO BE MADE A LIEN UPON THE LAND IN THE EVENT THE NUISANCE IS NOT
ABATED BY THE OWNER , seconded by Councilman Leipzig and carried on roll call
vote , Mayor Keckley being noted absent .
Application of HENRY and ANGELA M . MILLER , to resubdivide one parcel into four
parcels with exceptions requested , property being located on Oak View Way
near Laurel Way , in a "RH " (Residential Hillside ) District .
In the absence of a majority vote for or against a recommendation of this
application at Planning Commission meeting of April 25th , applicant was advised
that a record of proceedings would be forwarded to the Council without
recommendation , and without necessity of the applicant appealing the decision .
During discussion of this application , it was noticed applicant was not present
at this meeting and that it was apparent he had not been specifically notified
of same . It was noted by City Manager that the applicant was present at the
Planning Commission Meeting at the time of previous discussion and because of
this felt subject should be considered by Council at this time . City Attorney
felt that because property interest was involved a provision should be made to
notify applicant of this hearing and that Council should probably continue this
item in order to do so , because it is in the category of an appeal . He also
noted that the Planning Commission did waive the requirement for an appeal but
by doing so might have prejudiced the applicant .
Councilman Weymouth noted that this property was located in an assessment
district that had been discussed previously and that he , therefore , would be
voting on this subject in a negative manner .
Councilman Rhodes moved to continue this notice of application until May 22 , 1972
in order to inform applicant of time and place to express any interest , seconded
by Councilman Williams and passed , Councilman Weymouth voting no . (MINUTE ORDER
#72 -104 )
REPORT OF BID OPENING , Street Resurfacing for fiscal year , 1971-1972 , Phase II .
Six bids were received for this project and have been reviewed by Staff .
Recommendation was that Contract be awarded to Fisk , Firenze & McLean , Inc , ,
the low bidder , in the amount of $38 , 358 . 00 .
Councilman Norris moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6719 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR RESURFACING
OF DESIGNATED STREETS ; REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS RECEIVED ; AUTHORIZING EXECUTION
OF CONTRACT FOR SAID WORK ; AND DIRECTING RETURN OF SECURITY DEPOSITS , seconded
5 - 15-72
