379 <br /> Councilman Weymouth moved to request State to install divider strip as <br /> recommended , seconded by Councilman Henderson . <br /> Juan Hernandez , 1023 Stambaugh , spoke <br /> with reference to providing directions <br /> in Spanish . <br /> Mr , Sanchez suggested a stop sign on <br /> Main Street . <br /> Mr . Rossi felt that equal concern should <br /> be given to the El Camino Real -Roosevelt <br /> intersection . <br /> Mayor Bury asked that the Police Chief include the suggestion in his <br /> study . Councilman Keckley noted that the City had been studying <br /> redistribution of all traffic for the full length of Redwood City , and <br /> this would be incorporated in the capital improvement type program for <br /> the future and would answer most of the questions raised at this meeting . <br /> Motion carried . (MINUTE ORDER #72 -7 ) <br /> Request for Waiver of Bidding Procedures for Purchase of Check Protector- <br /> Signing Machine , City Treasurer- Collector Department . <br /> Continual breakdown of present machine and repair costs justify Staff <br /> recommendation that Council authorize bidding procedures be waived for <br /> emergency purchase , since only one company can make the replacement . <br /> Requirement for replacement was not anticipated in the current Budget , <br /> and funding therefore was required . <br /> Councilman Williams moved to introduce Ordinance appropriating $2 , 300 from <br /> unappropriated balance of Sales Tax Capital Expenditure Fund to <br /> appropriation for Capital Expenditures , Department of City4Yea. surer- Collector , <br /> for purchase of. Automatic Check- Signing and Processing Equipment , seconded <br /> by Councilman Keckley and carried . <br /> Councilman Williams moved to authorize waiving of bidding procedures as requested , <br /> seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried on roll call vote , Councilman <br /> Petersen being noted absent , ( 5/7ths affirmative votes were required . ) <br /> (MINUTE ORDER #72 -8 ) <br /> Request of Crown Parts , Inc . , for abandonment of an existing non-access easement <br /> along Maple Street , Woodhouse Industrial Tract . <br /> Crown Parts , Inc . , had requested abandrn ment of an existing one -foot non-access <br /> easement on Maple Street to allow construction of an approved new industrial <br /> building . Staff recommended granting of Revocable Permit for a portion of <br /> said non-access easement pending subsequent completion of Blomquist Street . <br /> 1 -17-72 <br />
