3 8 <br /> Councilman Weymouth moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6666 DESIGNATING AND RENAMING <br /> THE MUNICIPAL PARK PRESENTLY KNOWN AS " COMMUNITY PARK " AS THE "RED MORTON <br /> COMMUNITY PARK " , seconded by Councilman Keckley . <br /> The Park and Recreation Commission had unanimously recommended to Council , <br /> along with numerous similar proposals of others in the community , that <br /> Community Park be renamed in memory of "Red " Morton . Mayor Bury advised <br /> that he had been contacted by Howard L . Bogie , Recreation Program Director <br /> of the Department of Parks and Recreation , Seattle , Washington , who would <br /> be attending a National Softball Directors ' meeting , and would be looking <br /> forward to telling that group that Council had taken this action . Councilman <br /> Henderson indicated that she hoped Council would , in addition to adopting <br /> the Resolution , authorize selection of a site within the Park for placement <br /> of an appropriate plaque with landscaped surroundings , as a perpetual <br /> reminder , and suggested that guidance would be needed from Park and <br /> Recreation Commission for a location .
