382 <br /> Board came into existence , as a result of SB 1374 , and it is <br /> intended that instrumentation will be placed in new construc- <br /> tion throughout California . <br /> Councilman Weymouth moved to approve CONSENT CALENDAR Items (a ) through <br /> ( d ) , seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried on roll call vote , <br /> Councilman Petersen being noted absent . <br /> COMMUNICATIONS : <br /> 1 . Request of Condor Legion Model Airplane Club for a model <br /> airplane exhibition on dates of June 17th and 18th , 1972 , <br /> Community Park , with permission to fly the models during these <br /> two days . <br /> Recommendation : Refer to staff , <br /> 2 . Native Sons of the Golden West requesting permission to host <br /> Statewide 1972 Admission Day Celebration in Redwood City <br /> during dates of September 8 -10 , 1972 , with a parade , banquet , <br /> state -wide finals in bowling , golf , and baseball , and barbecue <br /> proposal for an estimated 1200 -1500 attendance . <br /> Councilman Henderson felt that it would be desirable that Staff <br /> consult with representatives of the Mexican -American Fiesta. <br /> in their consideration of this request for making recommenda - <br /> tion to Council . <br /> 3 . Petition signed by seven citizen community groups requesting <br /> to be heard on recommendations for presentation of oral <br /> communication to Council at the earliest possible date . <br /> Myron Filene , 67 Central Avenue , felt <br /> there should be provision for oral <br /> communications on the agenda ; that <br /> having only written communications was <br /> " classist " form of communication , and <br /> that the accepted way of getting on <br /> the agenda was "authoritarian " . <br /> Mayor Bury noted that at the previous meeting there had been <br /> a proposal for providing written instructions on procedure <br /> for getting on an agenda , and this would be forthcoming from <br /> Staff (Memo 1 -18 -72 ) , <br /> Toni Grey, 950 Iris Street , repeated <br /> her previous inquiry as to how to <br /> get on an agenda. . <br /> Emmy King , 67 Central Avenue , felt <br /> City should hire a bilinguist to <br /> provide interpretive services for the <br /> benefit of the Latin community . <br /> 1- 17-72 <br />
