He also noted the seven new <br /> buses had been delivered to the Gillig yard and awaiting City ' s inspection and <br /> acceptance , but to be delayed on delivery until after July 1st in order to insure <br /> qualification for State money , SB 325 , City Manager noted that finally , after <br /> the considerable effort extended by our legislative contingent , through Assembly- <br /> man Arnett and Senator Gregori.o , City will qualify for State funds for 1972 - 73 <br /> fiscal year . <br /> Public Safety -- In reporting the major fire within the Dumbarton Fire District , <br /> City Manager explained in more detail than his report submitted concerning the <br /> considerable amount of damage which had been sustained to one of the fire <br /> unit ' s pumping system because of extreme pressure being used in water pipes that <br /> had not been subject to this use for some time or ever in this location and had <br /> dislodged foreign material which was forced through the pumping system . He also <br /> reported that Chairman of the Dumbarton Fire District , John Connors , had met <br /> with the County Manager and subsequently had agreed to enter into a contract with <br /> San Mateo County , who , in turn , will contract with Redwood City to provide fire <br /> protection services to Dumbarton. Fire District until such time as a County <br /> Service District is formed . He then reviewed the action which had been taken <br /> by LAFC , approving reorganization of this District , including dissolution and <br /> the formation of the County Service Area , the election to be held , and the <br /> interim measure for contracting for fire protection services to the District <br /> since present contract terminates June 30 , Councilman Henderson , as a member of <br /> LAFC , advised the soonest the election could be held would be August , so interim <br /> contract would have to be carried over until after this timing . <br /> Police Department ' s fraud prevention program reported to have resulted in the <br /> installation of 110 check fingerprinting units within the City and thcugh ade - <br /> quate statistics are not yet available , initial samplings were reported to be <br /> highly encouraging and indicating a positive preventive reaction .
