Objections previously involved with the <br /> storm drain easement now have gone by the board as far as Leslie is _^ <br /> concerned and appear acceptable to the City . Well rights required <br /> review by City Appraiser and Department of Public Works and those were <br /> matters of record . City Attorney indicated further that the City was <br /> accuir i_ ng in the exchange something of -,reater value than it was relin - <br /> qui. shing . City Controller added that in this case it was determined <br /> that well rights were no longer of value to the City , whereas the storm <br /> drain easements were valuable to the City . In additional discussion <br /> it was brought out this was not disputed land and would not prejudice <br /> City in any way . <br /> Motion carried on roll.. call vote , Councilman Norris voting no . <br /> Councilman Henderson moved to introduce Ordinance repealing Articles I , II <br /> and III or , amending the Chapter heading of, adding Article I to , <br /> amending and renumbering Article headings of Articles III and TV of , <br /> Chapter II of the Code ; and adding Article IX to Chapter 9 of the Code , <br /> relating to the establishment of regulations and standards for electrical <br /> work and electrical systems , including the adoption by reference of <br /> the "National_ Electrical Code , 1971 Edition , " with amendments , as <br /> published by the National Fire Protection Association , seconded by <br /> Councilman Weymouth . <br /> Chief Building Official had proposed updating City ' s Building Codes , <br /> in three phases , the first comprising Electrical Code , since the one <br /> in current use was the 1962 Edition of the National Electrical. Code . <br /> (Report was submitted to Council ) . Procedures for adoption of the <br /> Codes are set by Government Code requirements , and first action <br /> required was introduction of proposed Ordinance with a public hearing <br /> set prior to adoption , during which time Ordinance must be published <br /> and a notice of hearing published twice , for two successive weeks . <br /> Motion carried . <br /> Councilman Norris moved to set the matter of updating the City Electrical <br /> Code for public hearing on July 10 , 1972 , seconded by Councilman Rhodes <br /> and carried .
