Presentation of Certificates honoring retiring members of Port Commission Budd 0 , Stevenson and Joseph Dematteis was made by Mayor Keckley . Mr . Stevenson and Mr . Dematteis extended their thanks for the privilege of serving Redwood City in this capacity , Loyalty oath was administered by City Clerk , and presentation made by Mayor Keckley of Certificate of Appointment to newly appointed member of the Port Commission , Gerald 0 . Johnson . Mayor Keckley noted that Mr . Gary Doupnik was not able to be present to receive his Certificate of Appointment , but would receive same and sign Loyalty Oath in City Clerk ' s office . COMMUNITY PROGRESS REPORT . ( City Manager ' s summarization of report dated Jul j 13 , 1972 submitted to Council ) Community Development : A total or 17 new building permits were issued during June , adding eight new dwelling units . Total value of new construction in June was $207 , 000 . The value of new construction during Fiscal Year 1971 -72 increased by 14% of 1970 -71 . During June , four demolition permits were issued - - three residential and one commercial , During the 1971 -72 Fiscal Year , 38 structures were demolished , 23 dwellings and 15 commercial buildings , Parks and Recreation : The renovation of the "49er " field was virtually complete , but unacceptable . The main problem to be resolved was excessive undulations , which hopefully can be rolled out . The Redwood.
