1 0 r <br /> e_� <br /> Councilman Weymouth moved to approve , as submitted , Minutes of <br /> Regular Meeting of July 10 , 1972 , seconded by Councilman <br /> Henderson and carried . <br /> Presentation of Certificates honoring retiring members of Port <br /> Commission Budd 0 , Stevenson and Joseph Dematteis was made <br /> by Mayor Keckley . Mr . Stevenson and Mr . Dematteis extended <br /> their thanks for the privilege of serving Redwood City in <br /> this capacity , <br /> Loyalty oath was administered by City Clerk , and presentation made <br /> by Mayor Keckley of Certificate of Appointment to newly <br /> appointed member of the Port Commission , Gerald 0 . Johnson . <br /> Mayor Keckley noted that Mr . Gary Doupnik was not able to <br /> be present to receive his Certificate of Appointment , but <br /> would receive same and sign Loyalty Oath in City Clerk ' s <br /> office . <br /> COMMUNITY PROGRESS REPORT . ( City Manager ' s summarization of <br /> report dated Jul j 13 , 1972 submitted to Council ) <br /> Community Development : A total or 17 new building permits <br /> were issued during June , adding eight new dwelling units . <br /> Total value of new construction in June was $207 , 000 . The <br /> value of new construction during Fiscal Year 1971 -72 <br /> increased by 14% of 1970 -71 . During June , four demolition <br /> permits were issued - - three residential and one commercial , <br /> During the 1971 -72 Fiscal Year , 38 structures were demolished , <br /> 23 dwellings and 15 commercial buildings , Parks and Recreation : <br /> The renovation of the "49er " field was virtually complete , <br /> but unacceptable . The main problem to be resolved was <br /> excessive undulations , which hopefully can be rolled out . <br /> The Redwood. City Community Theater would , in J.ugust , be <br /> p re sentinn' 11A-L Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum . " <br /> To assist in the advertising for this and future plays , <br /> posters would be placed on various City vehicles . The 9th <br /> Annual Boat Regatta was attended by an estimated 6 , 000 people ; <br /> the Jaycees did an excellent job of organizing the event . The <br /> hoist at the Marina was now operational . The floats damaged <br /> by a ship ' s backwash in January had been replaced and were <br /> operational . The new sailing program had been instituted . <br /> While awaiting delivery of the El Toro fleet , the Sequoia. <br /> Yacht Club had loaned six of their boats .
