142 <br /> It was brought out the family living in the one building had received <br /> notice to vacate the building by September 1st . The people involved <br /> in the building used for business , are aware of the abatement notice <br /> and date . Mr . Gyselbrecht suggested that there is still ample oppor- <br /> tunity for the owners to take some kind of an action within the next <br /> 30 days . The Building Department has been carrying on discussions <br /> with the owners of property for approximately 2 months . All parties <br /> concerned have been notified by certified mail . <br /> Mrs . Irene W . Merk, Secretary to Mr , Franklin <br /> Salaman, again requested postponement of this <br /> hearing due to both Mr . Benjamin H . Swig and <br /> Mr . Salaman not being in town . Mr . Salaman , <br /> however , had indicated to her he had been talk- <br /> ing to demolition firms to get bids . <br /> There being no further discussion or communications , Councilman <br /> Norris moved to close the public hearing, seconded by Councilman <br /> Rhodes and carried . <br /> Councilman Norris moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 6780 DECLARING CERTAIN <br /> STRUCTURES LOCATED AT, AND IN THE VICINITY OF , 450 MAIN STREET AND <br /> 456 MAIN STREET IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE, <br /> DIRECTING THE OWNER TO ABATE SAID NUISANCE, AND ORDhRING THE EXPENSE <br /> OF ABATEMENT TO BE MADE A. LIEN UPON THE LAND IN THE EVENT THE NUISANCE <br /> IS NOT ABATED BY THE OWNER , seconded by Councilman Rhodes and carried <br /> on roll call vote . <br /> REQUEST OF LALANNE PROPERTIES FOR ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY. <br /> Continued from Council meeting of August 7 , 1972 , in order proposed <br /> annexation agreement might be defined as to Council ' s findings , after <br /> having approved the prezoning to " IR " ( Industrial Restricted ) District , <br /> which was requested . ( Report submitted to Council August 4th ) <br /> City Manager brought to the Council ' s attention that the City Attorney ' s <br /> office is in receipt of a check in the amount of $1 , 500 from Mr . Lalanne <br /> to be used to assist the present residents of the area with their <br /> relocation costs , <br /> Mr . Marvin Siegel , 845 Oak Grove Ave . , Menlo <br /> Park , attorney , submitted for the record a list <br /> of property owners and tenants he was representing <br /> relative to the subject area , and spoke in oppo- <br /> sition to the annexation . <br /> The City Attorney at this point reminded the Council that if the <br /> remarks relate to the rezoning the Council should be aware of the <br /> fact that this was a matter that was subject to public hearing which <br /> has been closed and in order to hear testimony relative to the <br /> 8/14/72 <br /> Reg . Mtg . <br />
