State Department of Public Works regarding revised deadline dates <br /> for reserving 1971 -72 and 1972 -73 fiscal year TOPICS funds . <br /> Recommendation : Refer to Staff for reply . <br /> Councilman Williams moved to accept COMMUNICATIONS and authorize implemen- <br /> tation of recommendations as directed by Council , seconded by Council - <br /> man Henderson and carried . (MINUTE ORDER #72 -177 ) <br /> (b ) ORAL : <br /> Peter Sears , 1871 Cordilleras , speaking as a <br /> representative of the United Third World <br /> Liberation Front , proposed that the City ask <br /> the United States Government to remove the <br /> Army Recruiting Center from the City . <br /> Mayor Keckley explained the Council ' s previously stated position <br /> relative to its responsibilities as a municipal function . <br /> Councilman Henderson moved to deny Mr . Sears ' request , seconded by Council - <br /> man Weymouth and carried . <br /> Peter Sears , 1871 Cordilleras , proposed <br /> censure of a public employee . <br /> Councilman Henderson moved to deny discussion of the matter , seconded by <br /> Councilman Rhodes and carried . <br /> Carl Kriletich , 70 Foss Drive , asked if the <br /> City had a noise abatement ordinance , adding <br /> that he was also experiencing a problem with <br /> dirt and dust . He reported that he lived in a <br /> somewhat rural area and that construction activi - <br /> ties on a neighboring property was causing dust <br /> and noise . He also complained of noise from a <br /> nearby community shopping center , and felt City <br /> should regulate noise . <br /> Mayor Keckley suggested that the matter be referred to Staff for report <br /> back to Council . (Memo 9/19/72 ) <br /> Peter Sears contributed additional comment <br /> regarding noise abatement , and that high <br /> frequency vibrations were detrimental to <br /> health . <br /> Mayor Keckley announced that Redwood City would be host to Council of <br /> Mayors on Friday , September 22nd , at the Golden Steer . <br /> Councilman Weymouth moved to adjourn by adoption of RESOLUTION NO . 6805 <br /> COMMEMORATING THE MEMORY OF MRS . FLORENCE M .
