<br /> Mayor Bury advised that copies of the report were available to the public at the
<br /> Main Library and the Schaberg Branch , under a newly instituted policy .

<br /> City Manager responded to request by Council for comment concerning additional
<br /> items , indicating that upon recommendation of the Housing Concerns Committee ,
<br /> application was made to the Federal authorities to have a position included
<br /> o f a Community Redevelopment Housing Specialist under Emergency Employment
<br /> Act eligibility , which was approved , and subsequently 19 applications were
<br /> reviewed by the Housing Concerns Committee , of which about 10 candidates
<br /> were interviewed . One individual was selected and appointed to the position ,
<br /> and began working January 31st , attached to the Planning Department for
<br /> supervisory and coordinating purposes , and will be engaged principally in
<br /> research and in developing contacts in terms of recommendations regarding
<br /> housing utilization .
<br /> '.':Tith regard to proposed improvements of Alameda de las Pulgas , City Manager
<br /> indicated that because City was in process of developing a f ive -year
<br /> Capital Expenditure Program , Council and staff had concluded that consider -
<br /> ation should be riven to an overall program for improvement of streets in
<br /> Redwood City and evaluation made as to where Alameda would stand as a
<br /> priority item against other street needs , and it had been determined that
<br /> the Planning Commission should suspend further consideration of plans for
