4 2 9 the recommendations , and felt abolishing the District would be in the best interests of the people in the area and that setting up a County Service Area would enable responsible administration by the County . Councilman Keckley offered a motion in two parts : ( 1 ) that City petition the Local Agency Formation Commission to initiate the actions necessary to abolish the District , and (2 ) that City petition Local Agency Formation Commission and the County Board of Supervisors to initiate actions necessary to form a County Service Area for structural fire protection purposes , said County Service Area to have boundaries co -terminus with those of the District , and City indicate a willingness to enter a contract with the County to provide such structural fire protection service to the County Service Area after it is formed , seconded by Councilman Williams . Councilman Williams noted that in the past in develop- ing rates for Dumbarton Fire District , these were discussed with and approved by the County as being fair and just . City Manager added that rates would be comparable to what citizens of the City are paying , and the only difference would be that instead of a governmental agency , the County Service Area would simply be a tax code area run by the County . Motion carried . (MINUTE ORDER #72 -40 ) , Personnel Recommendations : Resolution amending Sections 3 , 4 and 5 of Rule VIII of the Personnel Rules and Regulations of the City of Redwood City relating to examinations , Mr . Whitney Halteman , 4o86 Farm Hill Boulevard , Executive Officer , Peninsula Association of Public Employees , asked for more specific information regarding this resolution and that they would like a week to study the matter . Following brief discussion , Councilman Keckley moved to carry the matter over for one week , to the agenda of March 6 , 1972 , secaided by Councilman Rhodes and carried . (MINUTE ORDER #72 -41 ) Proposed Employee Dental Plan . The Memoranda of Understanding entered into with all three employee organizations provided for subsequent initiation of a dental plan during 1972 , Process of selecting a plan was now complete and initiation recommended . A detailed report was submitted to Council . Councilman Weymouth moved to authorize commencement of the Employee Dental Plan on March 1 , 1972 , and preparation of formal agreement with Equitable Life Assurance Society , seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried . (MINUTE ORDER #72 --42 ) Mr . Halteman expressed appreciation for the proposed plan , and indicated he might later have recommendations for a better one in order that the City would get the best plan for the money . Councilman Weymouth moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6687 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT WITH COUNTY OF SAN MATEO FOR EMERGENCY EMPLOYMENT ACT FUNDS , seconded by Councilman Petersen . 2 -28-72
