455 <br /> City Manager informed Council of actions that have been taken thus far , <br /> including ( 1 ) a written request filed with the Local Agency Formation <br /> Commission to initiate actions necessary to abolish the District and , <br /> (2 ) request with the Board of Supervisors to initiate actions necessary <br /> to form a County Service Area for structural fire protection purposes , <br /> said County Service Area to have boundaries co-terminus with those of the <br /> District . This last request also included an indication of the City ' s <br /> willingness to enter into a contract with the County to provide structural <br /> fire protection service to the County Service Area after it is formed . <br /> City Manager felt that by taking the actions above , the City has provided <br /> a reasonable and workable alternative which may be utilized by the <br /> citizens and property owners of the District in the provision of fire <br /> protection service for their area , in the event they wish to utilize <br /> this means . Other options available to the District include execution of <br /> a contract for services with another adjacent local government agency or <br /> provision of these services by the District itself . <br /> Motion carried . (MINUTE ORDER #72 -64 ) <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR : <br /> (a ) Mrs . Minnie Ng ' s resignation from Civic Cultural Commission . <br /> Mayor Bury noted her continuous and dedicated <br /> service to the City through the Civic Cultural <br /> Commission , as well as Mr . Ng ' s long term <br /> support of the City Library , and that as a <br /> memorial to her late husband Mrs . Ng had <br /> set up a trust in his name to allow lending <br /> of paintings and prints by the Library . <br /> Action by Council would be to accept Mrs . <br /> Ng ' s resignation with sincere regrets . <br /> (MINUTE ORDER 11.72 -65-A ) <br /> City Clerk was requested to form a list of commission vacancies <br /> - existing or expected to occur during the current fiscal year . <br /> City Manager , in reply to question , indicated he intended to submit <br /> his recommendation regarding Personnel Board the first part of <br /> April 1972 . <br /> (b ) ACCOUNTS PAYABLE, Nos . 89186 to 89321 , totaling $151 , 390 . 82 .
