Funds were available in the Marina Revenue
Fund . Damage claim was being processed .
Council questioned whether recovery of the full amount of the cost of
damage was expected . City Manager indicated it was uncertain how much
of the costs would be recovered , but that all monies would be redeposited
into the Marina fund . City Manager indicated that sufficient funds
were available in the Marina Revenue Fund for this new ramp pier . He
also advised that the new pier would be 8 feet wide , rather than 5 feet ,
and would be constructed to hold more weight . An additional feature would
divide the ramp into three or four sections with a deliberately built- in
weak point , that would prevent the entire float from breaking up in the
event of a strong backwash . This new feature would be just a separation
and would prevent destruction of the entire installation .
Motion carried on roll call vote , Councilman Williams and Mayor Bury
being noted absent .
REPORT OF BID OPENING , Air Compressor , Fire Department .
The only bid received was from Rix Industries , Emeryville , in the amount
of $7 , 234 . 50 .
3 -27 -72
