462
Vice -Mayor Keckley noted the Government Affairs Program students were not present
at the meeting .
Councilman Henderson moved to approve , as submitted , Minutes of Regular Meeting
of March 27 , 1972 , seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried .
Continued PUBLIC HEARING , Abatement of Nuisance , 3500 Highland Avenue . This hearing
was continued from the Council meeting of February 28 , 1972 , at recommenda-
tion of Chief Building Official in anticipation that settlement of property
ownership by the court might be concluded .
Chief Building Official informed Council that he had this date received a
letter from Mr . Royer of Royer Realty Co . , informing him of intention to take
over the property from second deed holder on a temporary basis and that they
were arranging with a contractor to restore the property . It was anticipated
restoration would commence the following week . Chief Building Official
therefore recommended that the Council continue the public hearing until
May 1 , 1972 . On recommendation of City Attorney , the letter was submitted
to the Clerk to be entered into the record .
Councilman Henderson moved to continue the PUBLIC HEARING until May 1 , 1972 , seconded
by Councilman Williams and carried . (MINUTE ORDER #72 -71 )
Resolution authorizing exchange of easements in the vicinity of Cheshire Way and
Alameda de las Pulgas (Benjamin Reynoso , et al )
An existing access easement to maintain the intake structure for the Jefferson
Branch Creek Improvements is in a poor , steep location . The building plans
by the new owner of this property make it possible to exchange this ease -
ment for one in a much better location . The owner is in accord with an exchange
and will give the City the new easement without charge . City Controller ' s
statement that properties to be exchanged are of equal value is on file .
Councilman Weymouth moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6699 AUTHORIZING EXCHANGE OF REAL
PROPERTY INTERESTS IN THE VICINITY OF LOTS 21 AND 22 , BLOCK 14 , KENSINGTON
SQUARE, seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried on roll call vote ,
Councilman Petersen and Rhodes and Mayor Bury being noted absent ,
Request for authorization for a Change Order , Grading and Turf Installation , 49er
Field , (Munk.dale Bros . , contractor )
Request for Change Order was for the purpose of installation of automatic
sprinklers , rather than manually operated sprinklers in the area of turfing
replacement project . This would fit in with the ultimate goal of a sprinkler
system throughout the turf area of Community Park .
4-3 -72
