Dave Baca , President of the Redwood City <br /> Fire Fighters inquired what three positions <br /> were affected at this time . <br /> City Manager replied that they wane two Fire Inspectors and a Fire Alarm <br /> Supervisor . <br /> Councilman Petersen entered meeting at 7 : 50 P . M . <br /> Following brief additional discussion , motion carried on roll call vote , <br /> Councilman Rhodes and Mayor Bury being noted absent , <br /> Request of Randy Hietter) on behalf of the Belmont Bicycle Club as sponsors , to <br /> hold a bicycle race on Memorial Day , May 29 , 1972 . <br /> In a letter to Council dated February 28 , 1972 , request was made for permission <br /> in use the same course for this bicycle race as that being used by the Redwood <br /> City Sunrise Lions Club for a Go -Kart race on Sunday , May 28th . <br /> Councilman Henderson commented that this event would be of little cost to the City <br /> and therefore moved to approve the request and authorize issuance of letter <br /> permit by City Manager with specified conditions , seconded by Councilman <br /> Weymouth . <br /> Randy Hietter , representing the Belmont <br /> Bicycle Club , informed Council that this <br /> race was for the participation of licensed <br /> riders only , Also , that former and current <br /> Olympic contenders , along with National , <br /> would be participating in this race , <br /> Motion carried . (MINUTE ORDER #72 -73 ) <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR : <br /> (a ) Resignation of Raul Jaramillo , Member , Planning Commission . <br /> Recommendation : That Council accept Mr . Jaramillo ' s <br /> resignation with regrets . (MINUTE <br /> ORDER #72 -74-A ) <br /> (b ) DAMAGE CLAIM of Daniel C . Grady and Ruth E . Grady , 1033 Silver Hill Road , <br /> for property damages allegedly caused by backup of City sewer , ( Council <br /> action would deny claim and refer to insurance carrier) (MINUTE ORDER <br /> #72 -74-B ) <br /> ( c ) ACCOUNTS PAYABLE , Nos . 89446 to 89500 , inclusive , totaling $34 , 519 . 80 . <br /> ( Council action will approve accounts for payment by the City) <br /> ( d ) Councilman Henderson requested approval to attend meeting of Preparedness <br /> and Response Committee , Governor ' s Earthquake Council , on April 12 , 1972 <br /> in Sacramento .
