STAFF REPORTS <br /> A. Temporary Establishment of the Redwood City Art Center in the Old Police <br /> Facility. (101-12) <br /> REPORT: Assistant Library Director, August 30, 1993 <br /> Barbara Britschgi, introduced Ruth Waters, Redwood City artist and <br /> sculptor, operator of the 1810 Art Center and Gallery in Belmont, who <br /> described how the building would be used by artists, painters and sculptors <br /> and agreed that the site was only temporary and the permit could be revoked <br /> at the discretion of the City. In response to Council questions Ms. Waters <br /> described the proposed signage, the role of the artists' association and the <br /> facilities manager, and the evolution of the Art Center Task Force into an <br /> oversight committee. <br /> In response to Council questions, City Attorney Schricker advised the Art <br /> Center would be responsible for normal maintenance and regular repairs, but <br /> the City would be responsible for any structural improvements. <br /> Don Saye, Main Street merchant and Redwood City resident, spoke in favor of <br /> using the old police department as a temporary site for an Art Center in <br /> Redwood City. <br /> Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> August 30, 1993 MINUTE BOOK NO. 51 <br /> Page 8 Page No. 517 <br /> _._----.~_..".., J <br /> <br />
