He suggested that it would be to their advantage to make this information available to subscribers and other citizens of the City , and that perhaps it is an obligation of City Council to see that this is done . Mr . Sonsini agreed . He also stated that as of the first of October they provide 16 channels without the converter . Councilman Petersen asked about scheduling of programs and if this information could be published for the information of viewers . Mr . Sonsini advised that an advertising program for Channel 12 would be started next month . Councilman Henderson suggested that the concerns about the use of CATV by the schools and the city would be an appropriate subject , as suggested by Mr . Ullrich , for discussion by the City- School Liaison Committee which will meet this week , and that it might be well for representatives of CATV to attend one of these meetings and further explain the potentials , hopefully stimulating some interest and involvement in that way . (Memo 1 - 12 -71 ) Mayor Bury inquired about earlier plans for automatic hookups for public agencies such as City Police , Fire Department , City Jail . Mr . Sonsini stated that this is not automatic but that upon request it is being carried out . Councilman Henderson inquired about an annual report which is required under the ordinance granting the franchise . City Manager responded that up until now there was notsufficient progress to make a report other than substantiation of their minimum payment . The Auditor has been in contact with CATV and the first annual report will be brought to Council shortly . (Memo 1 - 12 - 71) Mayor Bury requested that Mr . Sonsini furnish Staff with copies of any material used in the merchandising campaign and with samples of any material distributed to citizens . City Manager advised Council that he has had several conversations with Mr . Sonsini who is aware now of the requirement in the franchise to provide free drops for hospitals as well as schools . CATV is receptive to this , although the interior wiring or the taking of the leads from the primary drop to the individual sets in the rooms would have to be done at the expense of the hospital . He stated that he has not been in contact with either Sequoia or Kaiser Hospitals to see whether or not they would be receptive to this expense after CATV has made the initial connection .
