He added that for practical <br /> purposes , the following day would be the last day to set in motion the <br /> procedures to exercise that option . <br /> Councilman Henderson moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 6 .76 APPROVING AND <br /> PROVIDING FOR THE EXECUTION OF A PROPOSED NEIGHBORHOOD FACILITIES <br /> GRANT CONTRACT NO , CALIF . N-249 (g ) , seconded by Councilman Williams . <br /> Council briefly discussed certain provisions in the Grant Contract and <br /> Mayor Bury noted the urgency for taking action . City Attorney indicated <br /> that the form of the agreement is acceptable to the City , Council <br /> noted copy of telegram from U . S . Secretary Romney with reference to <br /> suspension of the Davis-Bacon Act , which relates to wage determinations <br /> and affects construction contracts entered into on or after February <br /> 23rd , Mr . Epler indicated there was no clear definition as to whether <br /> this would be applicable or not , City Manager felt this would be <br /> resolved before the project reached the point of award of contract . <br /> Following additional brief discussion, motion carried on roll call vote , <br /> Councilmen Keckley and Weymouth being noted absent . <br /> Councilman Petersen moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 6477 AUTHORIZING AND <br /> DIRECTING PURCHASE OF CERTAIN HEREIN DESCRIBED REAL PROPERTY IN THE <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING PUBLICATION OF NOTICE <br /> OF INTENTION OF SAID ACQUISITION ; AND, TRANSFERRING THE SUM of $15 , 000 <br /> FROM APPROPRIATION FOR CIVIC CENTER PROJECT TO APPROPRIATION FOR <br /> COMMUNITY CENTER BUILDING TO PROVIDE FOR ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION <br /> AND RELATED COSTS FOR NEIGHBORHOOD FACILITIES PROJECT , seconded by <br /> Councilman Rhodes and carried on roll call vote , Councilmen Keckley <br /> and Weymouth being noted absent . City Manager advised that with these <br /> actions having been taken , the architect would be directed to proceed <br /> with preparation of working drawings . Mayor Bury suggested that an <br /> appropriate ceremony , with participation by the people in the neighborhood , <br /> be planned for when construction begins , Planning Director indicated <br /> I <br /> ground -breaking might take place as early as within three months . <br /> Councilman Rhodes moved to adjourn , seconded by Councilman Petersen and <br /> carried .
