<br /> 3 . Robert F . Beyer , President of the Board , Sequoia Young Men ' s Christian
<br /> Association , 1445 Hudson Street , asking support to enable Monique Gamelcy
<br /> to compete in First Annual YMCA National Championships for Swimming and
<br /> Diving , Ft , Lauderdale , Florida , April 20-24 , 1971 ,
<br /> Mrs . Jean Kirby , 557 Grand St . , stated she was a
<br /> staff member of the Sequoia YMCA , described the
<br /> efforts to secure funds to send Miss Gamelcy to
<br /> Florida for this competition , and expressed en-
<br /> thusiasm for her ability , and confidence that she
<br /> could win . The remaining amount needed was S200 ,
<br /> little time remained to acquire the balance , and
<br /> she hoped that the City would assist , Responding
<br /> to question by Council , she advised that a similar
<br /> letter had gone to some of the service clubs .
<br /> Councilman Keckley moved that Council go on record that City would underwrite
<br /> whatever funds are lacking at the time it becomes necessary to purchase fare ,
<br /> up to a maximum of 5200 , seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried ,

<br /> 4 , Vernon A . Harris , of Rubenstein and Hawkins , Attorney , 58 Sutter St , ,
<br /> San Francisco , requesting the following be an agenda item for April 12th :
<br /> Adoption by Council of resolution advising Oak Knoll Sewer Maintenance
<br /> District ofCity ' s consent to annexation of portion of Oak Knoll Manor
<br /> Subdivision to that District .
<br /> Recommendation : Refer to Staff for report prior to Council

<br /> Mayor Bury recalled earlier concern , since the position of Assistant City
<br /> Manager was vacant , for the need to have someone available to act in the
<br /> absence of City Manager .
