11. 2 <br /> Councilman Rhodes moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6489 APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS <br /> FOR THE FURNISHING OF ONE TRUCK CRANE ; AND AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO CALL <br /> FOR BIDS THEREFOR , seconded by Councilman Weymouth . <br /> The item had been continued from meeting of April 12 to allow for additional <br /> information , which was provided in City Manager ' s report of April 16 to <br /> Council . Report indicated the present equipment was eight years old and <br /> becoming impossible to keep in safe operable condition . Water Superintendent <br /> was asked to respond to question concerning normal life of this type crane , <br /> which he indicated was five years . Motion carried on roll call vote , Council- <br /> man Petersen being noted absent . <br /> Police Patrol Vehicles ( 3 ) - Purchase from State of California . <br /> City Manager reported that in current budget , funds were provided for ten <br /> vehicles , but because of the superior quality of the five already acquired, <br /> it was intended to purchase only a total of eight . <br /> Councilman Henderson moved to authorize suspension of requirements of Article VII <br /> of Chapter 2 of the Code of the City of Redwood City relating to purchase of <br /> equipment and supplies , and authorizing City Manager to purchase three ( 3 ) <br /> police vehicles through Office of Procurement , Department of General Services <br /> of the State of California, seconded by Councilman Rhodes . Police Chief <br /> indicated his Department is very pleased with these vehicles and with the <br /> addition of the new console , were hopeful will have good results . Motion <br /> carried on roll call vote , Councilman Petersen being noted absent . ( MINUTE <br /> ORDER #71-69 ) <br /> Councilman Henderson moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6490 REPEALING SECTION 5 OF <br /> RULE VII AND SECTION 8 OF RULE XIII OF THE PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS <br /> OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO WAIVER OF RESIDENCE REQUIREMENTS AND <br /> CERTAIN LEAVES OF ABSENCE FOR ENGINEERING CONSTRUCTION INSPECTORS , RESPEC- <br /> TIVELY , seconded by Councilman Keckley . The action was to bring the Personnel <br /> Rules and Regulations into conformity with recent amendments to the Municipal <br /> Code , and was recommended by Staff and Personnel Board . Report was submitted <br /> to Council . Motion carried on roll call vote , Councilman Petersen being <br /> noted absent . <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR : <br /> ( a ) Adoption of ORDINANCE NO . 1489 AMENDING SECTION 14 . 31 OF THE CODE OF THE <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE SCHEDULE OF CHARGES FOR REFUSE <br /> COLLECTION SERVICES . <br />
