139 REPORT OF BID OPENING, Truck Crane . The following bids were received : Utility Body Co . $2 , 758 . 88 Edward R . Bacon Co . 3 , 641 . 95 Funds in the amount of $3 , 300 were available in the Equipment Replacement Fund , and Staff recommended award to Utility Body Co . , the low bidder . Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6499 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE FURNISHING OF ONE TRUCK CRANE, LATEST MODEL , seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried on roll call vote , Councilmen Henderson , Rhodes and Williams being noted absent . Councilman Weymouth moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 6500 APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR RENOVATION OF REDWOOD CITY COMMUNITY PARK FORTY NINER FIELD ; AND AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO CALL FOR BIDS THEREFOR, seconded by Councilman Petersen . Councilman Keckley reported it had been brought to his attention that many groups in Redwood City were deprived of the use of the field during the off- season , except activities such as band practice . 19ers were not using the field six months out of the year , and the Recreation Department should be permitted to make full use of it during that time . It was indicated that groups of boys , under supervision of the Recreation Department , had been run off the field , Mayor Bury requested that City Manager pro tem contact the - Recreation Director for a response and report , including criteria for eligibility to use the field . (Memo 5-11-71 ) Motion carried on roll call vote , Councilmen Henderson, Rhodes and Williams being noted absent . Radio Fire Alarm System (Redwood Shores ) . At request of Mayor Bury , Fire Chief reviewed the necessity for more adequate fire protection in Redwood Shores and described the capability of the proposed radio fire alarm system . He indicated there would be no wires above ground and the system would involve a receiver , to be installed at Headquarters Station , and three radio transmitter fire boxes to be installed in Redwood Shores . At present there is only telephone communication , which is vulnerable , and further , the calls go to Belmont , rather than Redwood City . He emphasized that there has never been a failure in a fire alarm system in emergency . Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6501 TRANSFERRING $ 16 , 389 FROM APPROPRIATION FOR UNDERGROUND FIRE ALARMS TO APPROPRIATION FOR RADIO FIRE ALARM SYSTEM , seconded by Councilman Petersen and carried on roll call vote , Councilmen Henderson , Rhodes and Williams being noted absent .
