<br /> Motion carried on roll call vote .
<br /> Councilman Keckley moved to introduce Ordinance adding Section 49 . 5 to Ordinance
<br /> No . 1483 , the Salary Ordinance of the City of Redwood City , relating to position
<br /> of City Manager pro tempore , seconded by Councilman Henderson . Staff had been
<br /> directed by Council at the meeting of May 17th to prepare documents to provide
<br /> for extra compensation for City Manager pro tem . Motion carried .
<br /> ACCEPTANCE of Improvements , Whipple Avenue Signatlization and Channelization ,
<br /> Arguello to El Camino Real . Project had been completed by the contractor ,
<br /> Rosendin Electric , to the satisfaction of Department of Public Works and was
<br /> recommended for acceptance , subject to the usual guarantees , and for authoriza-
<br /> tion to record Notice of Acceptance .
<br /> Councilman Henderson moved to accept the project , subject to the usual one -year
<br /> guarantee of workmanship and materials , and to authorize recordation of Notice
<br /> of Acceptance , seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried . (MINUTE ORDER #71-98 )
<br /> Legislative Committee Report was presented in detail by Councilman Henderson,
<br /> Chairman . (For full text , see Clerk ' s file - Legislative Committee ) . The
<br /> report was entirely devoted to SB 333 , which would , among other matters , provide
<br /> for compulsory and binding arbitration of disputes relating to wages , hours ,
<br /> retirement benefits and all other terms and conditions of employment of local
<br /> policemen and firemen . The bill had been approved on May i4 , 1971 by the Senate
<br /> Committee on Industrial Relations , and was now on the floor of the Senate .
