(MINUTE ORDER #71 -110) <br /> Councilman Petersen suggested that the Commission appointment calendar be <br /> adjusted to allow more time for consideration , and after some discussion <br /> by Council , Councilman Petersen moved to reschedule calendar of appointments <br /> for Architectural Committee , Planning Commission , Park & Recreation Com- <br /> mission , and Civic Cultural Commission , as follows : Close of nominations , <br /> August 2 ; appointment on August 9 , and certification on August 16 , seconded <br /> by Councilman Rhodes and carried . <br /> Vice -Mayor Keckley relinquished the gavel to Mayor Bury , who entered the <br /> meeting at 8 :20 p . m . <br /> Councilman Petersen moved to reappoint W . Earl Whitaker to the Board of Library <br /> Trustees , seconded by Vice-Mayor Keckley and unanimously carried . Copies of press release were presented to <br /> representatives of the press , and Mayor Bury announced the unanimous choice <br /> of Council to select Mr . James M. Fales , Jr . , City Manager of Pleasanton , <br /> California , following several meetings of Council and great deliberation <br /> to consider the qualifications of several of the more highly qualified <br /> candidates . <br />
